Khavos
Is including red in the color scheme for a BA successor a hard and fast rule? Even the Lamenters had it, at least in their insignia. The only one I can come up with at the moment that I remotely like is all black with red pauldron trim and red aquila, but I think it'll look awfully bland as actual painted models - like they were just primed black and then had a dab of red or two applied. Leardinal
I don't use red, simply because I can't stand painting with it, it is restricted to the "x's" on my DC. My Marines are the color of aging steel with black trims with the BA symbol that has black/brass wings supporting a drop of cooled metal, I just haven't been able to update the thread because I don't have my 40k stuff ATM. The great thing about 40k is it gives you the opportunity to make your army yours, you could have blue marines with silver "U's" and call the "Ultra-angels," and while they will draw a lot of ridicule, if you like them that is the only thing that matters, because when it comes down to it, they are your little plastic men. But no, there is no official rule saying you must use red. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211725-color-schemes/#findComment-2518930 Share on other sites
Vodunius
There are no official examples but as said there is no official rule. I can't imagine that there isn't at least one chapter with a different colour. All of the other legions have successors with colours completely unrelated to their progenitors (eg: raven guard black, raptors either green or blue & yellow) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/211725-color-schemes/#findComment-2518944 Share on other sites
