Really like the defiler conversion. Although, it seems like its lacking...something. I dunno, need more spikey bits along the plates on the back...like spines maybe. I look at it and can't quite tell the front from the rear...maybe add a "tail"? And guns. More guns. The battle cannon just doesn't seem to be enough. Yeah...more guns.

Its A close combat defiler so it has 2 extra CCW (claws). I can't put a tail on it anymore because I wrapped the plates around the back to the bottom where the Cannon is located. I tried the tail but it just wasn't working. I even split one of the other legs joints just to see what it would look like. And as for spikes and all that jazz, its a Tzeentch Defiler and I'm not a big person for spikes. Once all the blue and gold gets painted up I think it will turn out quite nice.

Truly inspiring work on that defiler! I might just nick some of it straight away! The way youve done the head and torso is just awesome. I think a dynamic pose would make it seem alot more "alive", if you know what Im saying. You could google some ants or something and maybe find some inspiration for that. :D

Looking forward to seeing it painted!

Been going at the defiler lately. Most of the paint job is finished. I just need to do some touchups on the metal parts. found a local gaming store where I spent a few hours painting and met a few people. (@ DarkMatter Anime) So yeah its really becoming quite interesting.

C&C appreciated

And I will try to get some better pictures of the metallics. The gold is so bright it reflects a little to much for the camera. :D

What kind of sniper rifle doesn't have a scope.

I most likely wont be able to get a pose with one of them looking down the scope because the sniper is a little hard to pose just right in between the arms. But who knows, i will do more expirimenting and figure it out from there.

If I havent mentioned I am also currently working on a scratchbuilt hellblade. Won't be near as good as Maverike Prime's but thats alright with me.

Three down two to go.

Starting from left to right:

Reloading Marine, Marine looking down the scope then the Squad Champ to the right.

http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww287/andersonja/photo-6.jpg

And if anyone is wondering the bases are tile flooring that have been distressed a little. I somehow managed to get the pose just right where the marine was actually looking down the scope so I thought that was pretty lucky.

C&C Appreciated.

That is a very worthy answer :D Seriously, sniper marines are awesome. Do with them as you wish

How many snipers will be in the unit? Didn't you say seven (or nine)? ;)

All the current ones need is paint. Maybe to supplement the whole sniper feel, you should put some pouches or something like that on them.

Sadly only 5... for now.. :D

The paint will come soon enough, I just need to finish one more then I will most likely start painting.

I was thinking about pouches and etc and I really need something to fill up the legs so I'm not quite sure yet. I'm still working on it.

Evil Eyeball: I will be running a dual dex. Chaos space marines for everything except the snipers as the are just for fun; or I might just make up a point cost. not quite sure yet.

Will most likely put together the other marine tomorrow but I am a little stumped at the moment for a slightly different pose that still fits with the ones I have. And what do you guys think about having them slightly darker colors; as to almost blend in with the shadows?

C&C Appreciated.

Yes! Always cool to see marines with sniper rifles

why the scope?

will it work with its helmet on?

I don't think marines in power armour actually need to look through their scopes to benefit from them. At least that's the impression I get from some of the sculpts.

Umbra ferrox and the metal deathwatch bolters have wires leading out through the back of the scopes making them useless in a conventional sense. This implies the weapons are linked to the armour and the user's helmet display directly.

The idea is interpreted inconsistently through the range though

Very nice stuff, especially the defiler and sniper builds. :)

With the scopes I'd just say that the marine's helmet's, being traitors, are old barely functioning kit and the scopes are there to assist with long range targeting.

The way I truly see it is that the helmets have a targeting system but has no zoom. :cuss So the scopes actually help them pinpoint from the long distances that normal marines never usually have to aim from.

But Retrograde you have a very good point. It could make for a very interesting discussion.

Thanks for the comments everybody. Im planning to finish the last marine tonight then start painting tomorrow. Might even simple green some AOBR Terminators and a Loyalist LandRaider Crusader to chaosify for my force; not quite sure on that yet. I have an idea in the back of my mind that I want to make a command squad of terminators similar to TDA's Dark Apostle and other similar minis. Just trying to figure out if i want to go the cheap way or the expensive and big payoff way. Also after painting my defiler I have decided to go over my marines and refurbish their blue to make them match. The snipers will be a darker tone to resemble shadows (Hopefully) ;)

Projects to look forward to:

Chaos Hellblade

Terminators

LandRaider

(Possible) Missile Launchers

(Possible) Truescale Dread- Look for Jolly Rogers(I believe) version. Its the one using Tau legs if that helps at all. :P

C&C Welcome as usual.

Well. 5th marine is finished i think but im not the happiest with it i turned out somewhat like I planned but i could not get a sling or similar to work so as of now he is just holding with it somewhat somehow connected to the backpack. Probably going to mess with him some more.

I tried greenstuff and plasticard but couldn't get anything to perform how I would have liked; or looked interesting enough... So I just skipped that step for now. After he is painted I will go back and try something else. Snipers are based and AOBR terminators are soaking in a bath of simple green.

Basically finished painting the snipers. NOTE: they look better when from atleast a foot away.

Got just some very small detail work on a few of them.

I come to this magnificent house of worship tonight,

Because my conscience leaves me no other choice.

A true revolution of values will lay hands on the world order and say of war:

This way of settling difference is not just.

This business of burning human beings with napalm,

Filling our nation's homes with orphans and widows,

Of injecting poisonous drugs of hate into veins of people normally humane.

Of sending men home from the dark and bloody battlefields physically handicapped and psychologically deranged,

Cannot be reconciled with wisdom, justice and love.

You could always try aluminium foil. Some model aircraft modellers roll up thin rectangles of it, into long thin strips (tubes) then flatten it right down to make cockpit harnesses when the aircraft doesn't have them already.

;)
