Well I am back from the Eye of Terror! It has been since 3rd Edition since I have been on this forum. Screen name was spacepup still see some of the old names on here. Glad to see you again!

 

Well since I am posting I have a question. I tried the search to no avail.

 

If I were to drop pod some Wolf guard in terminator armor what would be your opinion on kitting them out?

 

I was thinking 4 TH/SS and Assault cannon/Chainfist. How would that work?

I have a WGTDA squad as part of my list. I arm them to deal with all comers:

 

TH/SS

CML/SB/FB/melta bombs

CF/SB

WC/WC/melta bombs

WC/SB/melta bombs

 

Has worked wonders for me. I also get to play with wound allocation since they are all different.

That will be an incredibly expensive unit. Standard Space Marines get TH/SS Terminators for significantly cheaper than we do. Instead, play mix and match to maximize your combined firepower as well as close combat potential, while taking advantage of Wound Allocation (a minimal benefit considering our Terminators still only have 1-Wound each, but it is still worth doing).

 

My setup is similar to Brother Ramses, and consists of:

 

Heavy Flamer and Chain Fist

Combi-Plasma and Wolf Claw

Combi-Plasma and Power Weapon

Storm Shield and Wolf Claw

Cyclone Missile Launcher, Storm Bolter, and Chain Fist

 

Still a little on the expensive side, but a unit like this has excellent firepower out of either a Land Raider or Drop Pod, excellent close combat potential at Initiative, and great anti-tank/Monstrous Creature at I1.
