Space Wolves Games Day UK

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share some of the info from Games Day I have been reading involving the Sons of Russ. Seems IA 11 is going to feature one of the Great Companies and we will be getting a Wolf Lord model and some conversion bits. Also, no confirmation on who is doing ThunderWolves. THis info comes from Fraggle on Warseer who was in the FW seminar. Apparently they do not know if GW or FW is going to do them but one IS going to do them at some point.

Enjoy guys, raise an Ale and lets go spank some Dark Eldar. They need to be put in there place.

I dont know how they do time lines in the IA books, but if I had to guess they would kill, and then replace a Wolf Lord. Thats my bet. Otherwise, my bet is on either the Fire Wolves Lord or Iron Wolves. I dont have my codex near by so I cant put down names ;)

Yea that is depressing.

I don't understand how they miss the boat so horridly on these decisions....

I mean who is the superstar who decided they would take the time to sculpt.... 'Lukas the Trickster' and not Thunderwolves? I imagine it's the same guy who decided Pyrovores should be done instead of the Doom o'Malatai.

It's completely and utterly stupefying to me when I think of those decisions... I can't find any reason for them. Maybe GW should look on Ebay at the number of TW sculpts on ebay from different sellers, or Nid Drop Pods. If the market is strong enough to support fringe sculpting companies for certain units, then maybe they should re-asses their criteria for scuplting certain units.

Hopefully the forgeworld guys look at this. I'd rather see Forgeworld scuplt a unit we KNOW will sell, and be USEFUL rather than see them sculpt something pretty, and with no use on the table top. (IE. Look at the new eldar units coming out for example.)

Better than nothing at all I suppose. I really like that FW is using the Space Wolves and we'll end up with some good looking models. That being said I really hope that GW does the thunderwolf models. I'm sure that FW would do a great job but we'd get more variety and possibilities out of GW than FW. Just my opinions mind you.
they can keep there TWM models, they missed there boat a long time ago, there are at least 4 different options that are above GW

I like my wolves wolf like and not squirrel like

Aw come on now! Who wouldn't love a squad of ThunderSquirrels in their army? Talk about vicious! And the ability to run straight up a tree!!!

Seriously, I have the Filipino models, but they arrived all busted, and I don't have it in me right now to green stuff it all back together right now.... It would be nice to see what FW -could- do. I mean I could always use more.

didnt you complain about the damaged wolves?

No unfortunately I made a big mistake... I received the box, then just opened it enough to see what it was.

I put them aside because I didn't want to lose, or mix up the parts as I was working on my Grey Hunters at the time. Fast forward another month or two, I open the box and it is busted up pretty bad.

This was back when the original company was dealing with a guy based in the Philippines and since then I see they dropped their association with him. So I figure I kind of screwed myself by not acting in time. Plus the ebay guy was impossible to communicate with (I messaged him several times, waiting months to receive my package... I guess this is why the company that makes the wolves doesn't deal with him anymore.)

Still to this day they are my favorite variant of the TWC, but I don't have it in me to put them all back together again.... Maybe in the near future.

Truthfully I am having so many problems painting my Wolves (so slow with all those bits) that I would welcome a one or two piece TWC model from Forgeworld at this point, regardless of their pricing.
