Only thing that I dislike is the shiny effect on some of them, probably due to armypainter-stuff...I think that without the dip, they´d look much better. I think the 'shiny' effect is a combination of the varnish I use (they are gaming pieces after all, so I need to protect my paint job) and the flash on my camera. For Tarkus: Red = Mechrite Red over a black basecoat Shade armour crevasses using a wash made from Scorched Brown, Formula P3 Mixing Medium and water General highlight of Blood Red (usually takes 2 coats) Edge highlight of Blazing Orange Finer edge highlight of Blazing Orange:Vomit Brown mix (reserved for important models only!) Glaze of Baal Red mixed with water Gold = Dwarf Bronze:Scorched Brown mix over a black basecoat Shade with Devlan Mud First highlight = Dwarf Bronze Add increasing amounts of Mithril Silver to Dwarf Bronze for further highlights Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

BTW if any who have admired my work are interested, a number of these figures are now available on ebay.co.uk, as I am in desperate need of funds to settle the debts I acquired when purchasing a house last month! Many times when I see Miniatures that shine too much, I think of Armypainter, and the look of the washes only confirms my assumptions.
