TWC are a solid assault unit, whose main strength is wound absorbtion and assault reach. They are not super-killy.

Actually, I would argue that they're currently quite possibly the best assault unit in the game. They're not super-killy, no, but they're killy enough.

Templar Assault Terms are the deadliest loyal Marines on the charge, against MEq anyway, imo. You do need a LRC, mind you.

Again, I didn't say they're the killiest, simply the best. They have incredible durability. Anything they can't kill they can tarpit until the cows come home. They don't need transportation, and they have unbeatable range. And they're not exactly expensive, even tooled up with toys, not considering each model basically has to be killed twice. Their only weakness aside from huge amounts of fire is ID-causing weapons, and even that can be mitigated to an extent by Storm Shields.

Best assault unit in the game.

There has been a great deal of debate as too which unit is better nob bikers or thunder wolf calv, if you crunch the numbers you get a little more bang for you buck with nob bikers “or so people with fancy math say“. I disagree but that’s really irrelevant what is relevant is if you are going to play at a 40k tournament you will face against either TWC or Nob bikers and if your really unlucky both.

Here is the reason why, Nob bikers and TWC are super charged powerful units that only require you to move head long at the enemy, anyone with basic 40k skill can use them and have a fair shot of winning a game at any tournament or any game for that matter. This won’t ever change in 40k, right now its Nob bikers and TWC, fifteen years ago it was warp spiders and in another few years it will be some thing else. Do you need to change your army to specifically beat TWC and Nob bikers, I would say yes you should have a plan of what you are going to do because like stated above you will play against them and often.
