So I love the BT models, but I love the BA codex, add the two together and you get Sanguine Templars....not that easy for me, I needed background to give them and my modeling and painting purpose. This is a VERY rough 1st draft, and I need to increase the dioluge between the two participants, but I am just checking he story and it's validity in the 40k'verse before I move further with it. Please feel free to comment and make suggestions.

The rhythmic undulating of the servitor respirators, combined with quick shuffling steps and the commotion of papers being rustled was all that was heard, He was coming, and Tiberius had little time, he could already hear the cadenced stomp of the Sanguinary Guard escort.

“He has been making these visits more frequently…” Tiberius mumbled under his breath “He acts as if he is going to die tomorrow...” he tried explaining to one of the servitors. Of course it was a futile task though; Tiberius had long ago had the ears and mouth of his servitors shut. Too much information some secret some sacred was shared in this room, especially of late, especially by Him.

With one last arranging of items on his desk Tiberius stood, folded his arms with in his sleeves and waited,…the marching had stopped. Slowly the chamber door moaned open 2 Sanguinary Guard walked in, their armor trimmed in Red, His color, Tiberius didn’t know if these were the two that always stood here, but it always made him slightly nervous to have them in this room during these meetings. Tuberous’ train of thought was broken as He entered the room, this was not a new experience for Tiberius, he had lost track of the number of times he had these meetings. It never ceased to astonish him though, even the mere sight of this man suggested a wisdom brought with countless years, the very way in which He moved suggested calculation and gave insight to the deadly weapon that He was.

“My Lord Dante, it is in humility and in the grace of the Emperor that I am humbled and honored to have this conference with you.”

“And I with you, Tiberius, I trust the presence of my guard does not disturb you?” Dante inquired, his voice matched his appearance, it carried the wisdom of ages and held the tone of command, and if being custom to lesser men obeying when he spoke.

“Of course not my Lord, your safety is paramount at all times….here everything is in order and prepared, we can begin any time you are ready…” Tiberius gestured to the waiting chair, these meetings had been suggested by Dante several months earlier, the purpose being to chronical the events of the Chapter, and ensure some things that may have been forgotten, do not remain so. And as the head chronlicar of the chapter, it was the duty of Tuberous to document these things.

“Yes…..of course……” Dante replied, but in doing his visions seemed distant, his words drawn and slow…”it…has been….. a long time….long indeed”

“A…long time my Lord Dante…?”

Dante Cleared his thought….”yes of course, it has been a long time since I have had a proper nights rest, and tonight feels as if it could be a good night, so please, let us get on with it.”

Tiberius arranged himself behind his desk, activated his recording devices and began….

“Where would you have us start today my Lord Dante? If I recall, in our last meeting we spoke of those chapters from the 2nd founding that no longer have a presence today, we had left off speaking of a certain Commander Borius, some kind of temple guardian???”

Dante’s face grew distance and his gaze empty...”Yes, yes, Commander Borious…Borious the Templar, Borious the Zealous….Commander of the Sanguine Templars. Borious was a good marine, and a trusted friend, but like many of our brethren, he succumb to the black doom that awaits us all, yes even you Brother Tuberous…”

It was during the 2nd founding when the rise of Borius came. Sanguiness had dies by the traitor Horus, and we senior commanders were left to reorganize the chapter according to the dictates of what we deemed correct. Many of us agreed on ideals consistent with the doctrines laid down by those before us…of course there were those who disagreed, but Borious had radical ideas. He felt that none of us were truly honoring the memory and the sacrifice of Sanguiness, that we were masking our fears in organizational bureocrecy, and failing to seek out the dammed, bring them to justice and punish them for their heresy. Borius always had a zealous nature to him, and many of us commanders always felt he should have been a Chaplin, but his command of the battlefield justified his rank.”

Tuberous continued to listen as Dante continued

“His proposal included the organization of a chapter that was designed to bring honor to the name of Sanguiness. Borius wanted all the troops to jump troops, having 2 companies of tactical and only 1 company of armor, consisting only of Baal’s and Razorbacks. He wanted to make a fast moving force that he felt truly honored Sanguiness through flight, close combat, and precision. I was inclined to agree with Borius…in part, but many of us saw the tactical disadvantages and advantages to his designs…after much contentious argument it was decided to give Borius his chance and that is how the Sanguine Templar’s were organized. The first years of the Templar’s were filled with bloody war; the chapter moved from planet to planet surgically removing the enemies of the Emperor and the forces of chaos. With time though the flaw of the Templar design began to show forth, you see Tiberius, what keeps or troops so accurate when dropping, what allows us to descend like angles from heaven is practice, our brethren spend more time practicing drop drills then they do in actual combat, the chapter is designed to rotate our brethren, there was no such rotation among the Templar’s. Fatigue began to set in among the marines of Borius. His zeal pushed his men so hard that they had little time between campaigns for training. As the time for practice diminished, the Templar’s began to fall…entire squads were lost to poor jump target selection, and the constant fighting that Borius pushed his men to left his fleet in disrepair and undermanned. I remember many time pleading with him to give his men a rest, to join forces with the main fleet for a time, but he would not listen…in retrospect, I think that Borius was exhibiting the early signs of the Black Rage…but death took him before it could come to fruition.”

“How did he die?” interjected Tiberius…

“I do not recall the campaign, but he had agreed, after this last assault that he would give his men a rest for a time, and join with the main fleet to rebuild and repair what had been lost. but that never happened. I think that it may have been in the early phases of the battle that Borius may have completely succumbed to the black rage….I do not recall the details of that battle there are so many, but I do know that Borius fell at that battle as did much that was left of the Sanguine Templar chapter. When the battle with the Orks was over, one Assault Company, and part of an armored company was all that remained of the chapter, somewhere among the bodies laid the broken remains of Commander Borius.”

“What happened to the rest of the Sanguine chapter?”

“I met with the few remaining captains, and it was determined, much to my regret, that the remains of the Sanguine Templar’s would join the main fleet, and would be allowed to retain their name, and essentially function as a chapter within a chapter…unorthodox I know, but I suppose because the friendship I had for Borious, I could not completely disband the chapter, but I should have. You see I gave them a rest, I put them into the reserve cycle, keeping them out of battle and giving them the needed rest, but this proved to be my mistake, for these marines had been fighting non-stop for so long, that the lull in combat for them led to a rapid awakening of the black rage among the survivors, soon infighting among the Templar’s began to grow, as well did the Death Company size…those were some dark time for me Tuberous, eventually I put the remaining Templar’s back into the combat cycle…I suppose it was only a few short years after that the last of the Templar’s were lost, either to death, or to the rage that will take us all.”
