Redfinger
http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...p;#entry2523702 This thread it is mentioned...the other night at my LHS I was parked in a rhino for a whole round, The rhino had not moved, it did pop smoke the previous round. Now I know the rule book says that if the transport has not moved in the round the unit inside can disembark and assault as normal. SO when I tried doing this the other night, my opponent shot it down and said no, for the sake of the game, I decided I would look it up later, still not sure on it though, and at the time I was inclined to beleive this guy because he had won the last 2 tournements that the store had put on. He won the last one to with 2250 points of foot slogging Ultramarines, not a tank, speeder or bike, just troops... Anyway I would love some clarifacation on this, and if possible page numbers errata's or what ever, it is one thing to simply point a page number out, but it is another to actually know what your talking about, and I think I lack, at least in part, that element right now. Thanks guys, Ashton Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212153-assaulting-out-of-a-stationary-vehicle/ Share on other sites
Aarkon
If the Rhino does not move in a turn you can get out and assault. Show the guy at the store page 67 in the big rule book. Which says and I quote "If the vehicle has not yet moved, then the passengers may disembark and move normally. The vehicle can also then move normally. The disembarked models may shoot (counting as moving), and may assault as normal. Interesting that I missed that part...then may I sumize that a "assault vehicle" does not need to spend a whole turn stationary in order for the troops inside to assault, it may move, shoot, and the troops inside can assault? shatter
This rule is fundamental in a LOT of builds. Your LHS community sounds a little small and uhh, isolated. Let him down gently. =) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212153-assaulting-out-of-a-stationary-vehicle/#findComment-2523734 Share on other sites
Leardinal
What might be the problem is one thing I have to remind the Guard Vets at my FLGS about is that if the vehicle takes its free "pivot on the spot," it still counts as moving for the passengers. They were not happy to find out they couldn't spin the Chimera around to present a different armor facing, then realize they can't fire their lascannon HWT that turn. (First bullet point under "Disembarking" on pg 67) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212153-assaulting-out-of-a-stationary-vehicle/#findComment-2523793 Share on other sites
liberate_tutame
Well stated Aarkon and Jakobus. The importance in understanding the rules regarding disembarking, assaulting and moving vehicles is a little more important for us BA players than most others as we are a more assault orientated army than others. As a sidenote, I should also remind ye that if your vehicle moves flat out and is destroyed in the oppenents turn the models embarked are not automatically destroyed.
