Can you "bring back" chapters?

I was wondering if you could "bring back" a chapter?

To my belief, not all the Rogue Trader chapters are seen/writen about in the new codecies.

I was thinking about "bringing back" the Flesh Eaters chapter, of the third founding.

Since they were "created" using the Blood Angel's gene seed, I would use the BA codex.

What is your thoughts on this?

Thank you in advance.

The way I see it, while their current status may be that they have been "fatally undone", there was a point in time where they were alive and kicking, so who's to say you can't use them? My friend plays a Space Wolf army that represents the Great Company of a Wolf Lord that has since perished. He wanted to make up his own, non-Codex Wolf Lord, and the easiest way to do it was to say that represents one of the Great Companies as it was 400 years prior to the current 40k time line.

And if anyone gives you any guff about how you're not allowed to travel into the past like that, tell them that really you're just going slightly less into the future than they are.

Yes. Quite simply a good write up of a GW chapter just has to tick all the boxes that we know about the chapter. If they have been destroyed, you can write about them and their destruction and just play a historic army. People collect HH armies and they have been long dead.
