Aradai
Posted this earlier on Librarium. Not sure if linking to other sites is allowed but here is my post. It really belongs on a Blood Angel forum anyway. So this is my take on a Storm Raven. I know I'm a little late to the conversion party but better late than never. The white stuff is all plasticard. Sweet awesome plasticard. I didn't want to settle for anything that looked too much like guard so scratch building was the only option. I had plenty of Valk bits left over which will make a nice crater explosion. My idea was that a Storm Raven is essentially a smaller more agile Thunderhawk so it shares a lot of characteristics. (Well we didn't get any pictures for reference right) This thing measures about 12 inces long, an actual Thunderhawk is somewhere around 18-19 inches just for size reference. The dread on the back is magnetized to a grapple system. I figure this works with the assault transport idea as it drops the ground and start tearing stuff up. You can't see it so well as I had to trash all my low shots but there's a twin linked heavy bolter just after the assult ramp in the front. The picture quality is pretty bad, sorry for that. Taking shots of white plasticard is tough, I threw out most of my shots! http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz298/Aradai/StormRaven_01.jpg http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz298/Aradai/StormRaven_02.jpg http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz298/Aradai/StormRaven_03.jpg http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz298/Aradai/StormRaven_04.jpg http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz298/Aradai/StormRaven_05.jpg
igotsmeakabob!!
It's so awesome it won't see action past the first or second turn... like most Stormravens it'll be blown from the sky for its beauty...

GlauG
Nice! Beats the hell out of mine, and I stole my plans from what I'd thought was the best up to that point. I particularly like the cockpit.
Crynn
I don't comment on things just to say 'good job mate' but that is truely an amazing job, and by far the best representation of a stormraven and I have searched many a time for nice conversions. Do you have any other work you could show us? Just because Good conversion and scratch build work actually seems relatively rare on this forum. Anyway fantastic, you should be very proud of yourself Regards Crynn

Aradai
Thanks for your feedback! ;) You`re all too kind. This project took me about a month to complete so I was eager to share it. @ Crynn Got some other stuff but mostly xeno conversions like this here Parasite of Mortrex I need to take pics of some recent projects. Made a Tervigon and a converted Sanguinor with dynamic leaping action. Wasn`t too crazy of the standard rapture pose. Anyway back to Raven a sec. igotsmeakabob!! mentioned they won`t live by turn 2. This is highly possible but I tried something last game which allowed it to survive the entire game. Fire all your missiles as soon as possible. 4 AP 1 missiles makes people super nervous. Shield of Sanguinius is your friend. Even after an alpha strike it will attact a lot of fire. The shield really saved my ass that game.

Demoulius
wow very nice :) specialy like the cockpit and the whole "mini thunderhawk" feel that it has going for it :P
Commander Sasha
I'd agree, best I've seen! If I may make a constructive criticism: In order to fly, or hover/VTOL, the front wings could do with boosters, like the Valk wings, or maybe a Landspeeder hoverplate under the front. Chin up, so to speak! Excellent work!
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
Get it painted up! It looks awesome now and will look even awesomer afterwards. My only criticism is that the turret seems to stick up a bit too much.
Angelus Mortifer
That is one excellent looking conversion you have mate. For the time and effort, as well as the skill (far beyond what I could do), I take off not just one hat, but many :P
