the herbal essence marines, the best way to deal with nurgles!

it's impressive how a good photo help showing the best of a model, any tips on how you achieved these?

and I so need to know how you did that eagle on the land Raider!

The Landraider was done by drawing my desired symbol onto the landraider.

Then masking around the edges of the symbol with plumbing tape(i dont use masking tape/paper tape because paint sokes through and leaves a frayed edge rather than a straight one).

Then using an airbrush i sprayed scorched brown onto the untaped area and using gradually lighter tones painted less and less until i was only painting the edges with a bright yellow white.

I hope you can understand that if not just say and ill explain better.

When taking the photos i got alot of information from this Link

But when it says that you should get a light box i agree but i just made mine out of duplos(giant lego peices) here is a picutre of what i do.

http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/6818/img1802ls.jpg

So then i just put a bed sheet over the duplo frame and shine the lights through it the backgrounds can be found in the article.

The reason for shining the light through the sheet is that it stops alot of strong shadows from apearing.

and as to the herbal essence its actually

!!!!Head and Shoulders Anti-Dandruf You Too can Look like Fulgrim!!!!

whos hair is so white you cant even see the dandruff!!!!!

That banner is awesome.

As for the marines, I say make most of them like the ones in the second pic. The face plate looks pre-heresy and ties in well with your Lucius model.

Since you're green stuffing the heads you might want to try a MK4 maximus helmet. Use a small blob of GS to extend the mouth of a normal MK7 helmet into a point and leave it to cure. Once it's hardened you can cut/file the very tip off. You could then use a tiny bit of GS to make a small disc right on the end of the new mouth piece. Given your painting skills I'd say the result would look very Emperor's Children.

The banner is awesome. The freehand is clean and the highlights are remarkable. Even though I think on the table it will just look grey, because I lacks an eye catcher. Never the less it's cool.

The Land Raider's freehand will look nice, too, once it will be finished. But why did you use a BT door?

I would like to see an army shot.

But those are Mk7 helmets...what about making the armour and helmets look a bit more pre-Heresy? You put all that effort in the painting but you should do the same with the modelling. That way your product will truly be amazing! :)

I have to agree with this!

Your freehand is amazing. You clearly have alot of skill there. i like it alot.

However, seeing as you are so good, I have to be critical.

Your freehand dosn't follow the folds of the banner.

Where the material folds, the freehand should cruve with it.

But other than that it is stunning. Many congratulations to you my friend

Thanks! I think this is what differs good modelling projects from the legendary ones. Good ones have a single good aspect such as modelling, painting or fluff accuracy/storyline/theme. Legendary projects contain all three elements. I see that HarasinCreed is very much capable of great paintjobs and conversion work, now the fluff accuracy and it could become a truly legendary project! :P

Thanks guys for all the feedback really incorages me to keep going. As to the free handing on the banner i thought about making it match the folds of the banner but decided it would probably just make me mess up the whole thing. When i do the squad banners i will try and follow your advice.

Edmund

ps more pics comming soon

That cleaver is awesome, I really hope it's a power weapon so that you cna make a freehand on it

I would reccomend converting the heads to make them more fluff accurate... but this is awesome anyways, so you know.

Converting the heads will probably please a lot of people though.

So if i did maximus helmets would people be happier? or which type do you suggest i do? and if i left some of the helmets the way they are when you buy them would that be ok aswell?

Everybody loves Maximus (except the Normish) so yes, Maximus is perfect. Interestingly enough, Horus Heresy artwork show Corvus (that is to say, the beakie ones that come as an option in most Space Marine kits) armour as the armour to wear during the Heresy, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to use some of those as well, no greenstuffing necessary.

You can leave the helmets the way they are, just tell people you're a painter, not a sculptor, which seems to be true as far as I can see ^_^ A very talented painter at that.
