Terminators or Sanguinary Guard?

Hello folks! :D

As the title says, I'm not sure which unit to include in my 1500 point army list. I was thinking of taking Termies as they seem more resistant and more AT orientated, but then the Sang Guard are fast, well protected and cool.

So, which one?

Cheers,

Ludovic

I'd suggest searching for the SG threads that have been prevalent in the last month or two. TDA is TDA so there isn't much to explain there. What do you need the unit, TDA or otherwise, to do?

I was just thinking of adding some punch to my army as I've filled the other spots up (troops, heavy support, etc...)

It depends on what you watn them to do... remember they have no way of getting an invun save so if they will no do well taking anything on that forces invun saves (Power weapons etc)

I personally find TDA only worth while if being delivered through a Landraider for Assault.

I guess if you were going shooty it wouldn't be bad

The main advantage to Sanguinary Guard versus terminators is they can deep strike using DoA and are much more mobile. Sanguinary Guard dont have the invulnerable save but they can wreck some face with those master crafted swords. Terminators need a landraider to be effective in a competitive game which basically doubles their cost - I think that is the main reason why we don't see them much now. Basically it comes down to how you want to design your army. With Dante Sanguinary Guard are a scoring unit which is another huge bonus, plus they are fearless as well.

I like TDA but i usually use them as either walking screens for other troops or usually as back up for my tac saquad with a teleport beacon - that can secure an entire flank with one priest.

Also, Sang Gaurd are amazing with a priest attached - they just shouldnt go up against CC specialists.

Personally id try them both out for a while.
