Gotta love Arjac

Initially I shied away from SC's because I like the idea of saga's and creating your own badass. However, after playtesting Arjac in two games, I'm hooked. He basically becomes a 12 wound character / vehicle killer! I attach him to a 10 man GH Pack in a Redeemer. The unit becomes far far more resiliant and killy at the same time.

I dropped one of my two Vindicators and reduced my 4th GH Pack down to 5 and put it in a Razorback in order to fit Arjac into my army. The loss in firepower is partially taken up by the TwinL Las Razorback and Arjac.

I'm gonna playtest him a few more times before I consider him "permanent." Anybody have similar experiences they can share?

I used Arjac at a small local tournie the weekend just gone. I to put him in a 10 strong GH pack with attached Wolf Priest just to be sure. The problem as I saw it was that the GHs, at 10 strong, are just too good, especially with the Priest in there giving preferred enemy. By the time it came for Arjac to swing the hammer, there wasn't enough of the enemy left for him to make a big enough difference to the combat. I think I'm going to try him in a smaller squad and utilise the points elsewhere.
I set him with 14 Blood Claws in a Crusader and then drive up to the nastiest enemy IC there is on the board. Since he can't be singled out he gets to punch the IC in the face and has 14 wounds the enemy needs to do before they can start to try and hurt him.

I would put him in a Land Raider Crusiader with 10 Grey Hunters, so he can inspire them to glorious victory! Though that being said, not that fussed on deathstars anyways.

That, or a droppod with 8, but only in a thunderwolf list considering how they are the only list that can really get up to support them or otherwise, and I would be weary about cramming it full of termies. These guys go down hard and ready to plant their feet firmly on the objective with a banner to help the Man Moutain out.

I hadn't thought of this before, but Arjac in a wolf scout unit...

I will just let you lot mull that over for a bit.

My guess is that you hadn't thought of this before because the codex says Wolf Guard in TDA may not join Wolf Scouts. So can't Arjac.

*sits in silence wondering what to say but ends up posting a silly comment about what he is doing*

Surely yo can't attach both ragnar and a wolf priest to the squad? Arjac and one of them yes, but not 2 independent characters (or have I missed something)

Why not? BRB never mentions squads can have only one IC attached to them. And if IC can even be attached to other IC to form multicharacter units, why can't 2 characters join a single blood claws squad?

Arjac is not an independent charter he is a wolf guard and can be attached to any squad that allows wolf guard in TDA to be used as a pack leader such as gray hunters blood claws and long fang's just to name to ones i can think of

You may attach any number of independent characters to a squad. You may even make a unit out of independent characters if you so please.
