Brother Turok
Hi everyone, so I have another dilemma. How does everyone paint their purity seals on their deathwing? The codex has some in purple and most in red. However red looks a lot like a christmas tree with green chest eagles and robes... so back to the question, how do you paint yours? Purple? red? Something different? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212502-deathwing-purity-seal-color/ Share on other sites
Chaplain Lucifer
I paint them red. But you can try green like the chest eagle, probably will give less Xmas tree effect. :cuss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212502-deathwing-purity-seal-color/#findComment-2527908 Share on other sites
Shadey
I do my chest eagles and other details in metals, normally a dark gold specifically to avoid the xmas look. The only red on my DW is the purity seals and the eyes. Or don't fight it and just give em a candy cane and sculpt a santa hat on em. farseerixirvost
I tend to vary the colors of the purity seals. I figure they come from different engagements or actions on the recipients' parts, so would be like different "military medals of honor" or all those patterned bar-patches above a US Soldier's shirt pocket (each one representing seeing action in a different engagement or whatnot). In other words, I usually do red wax seals, paint the rim of that gold, and then paint the parchment/ribbon a variety of colors across the army. I use Purple, Dark Green, Emerald (metallic green), Sapphire (metallic blue), Midnight Blue, sometimes yellow, orange. You might also try white (if your DW are fairly bone colored) or Bone (if your DW are fairly white colored).
