Some sort of batrep

 

 

First game was against the HUGE imperial traitor guard army (IA army list) from Quase

Steals first turn

He shot my left flank to bits in turn one and two

By turn three my thunderwolves where in his line eating zombies and traitor guard left and right.

They must have eaten 1 big zombie platoon, a support team that got out of its chimera, 3 autocannon fire team, 2 1 auto cannon fire support teams and 5 poison Ogryn.

 

At the end 2 of the 4 thunder wolves where left and my lord that went off on its own had no wounds.

 

They took so much fire (las cannon support and auto cannon support fire and lots of flash light) but only lost 1 wound trough shooting (from a flash light)

At the end i had 2 objectives, he had non and i had more kill points

 

4/11 Massacre (1 kp for not killing my lone wolf) (something around that)

 

So much happened i cant remember more details

Game 2 (table quarters deployment capture the base + KP, enemy base worth 3 KP)

Renee's Eldar

 

He had 3 different Falcons, 1 with an Farseer with Fire Dragons, 1 with Howling Banshees and 1 with aspect warriors.

2 groups of aspect warriors guarding his base group of Harlequin a Avatar and a Wraithlord.

 

Made 1 BIG mistake in this game what would have made the small victory in to a solid victory.

 

I set up my longfangs on top of the base, GH support in base with my runepriest on top so he could see the battle field.

1 rino left one right center Vindicator and thunder wolves behind lone wolf behind vindicator

 

HE STEALS 1 TURN

 

Turn 1

He jumped his 3 Falcons on full charge towards my left flank (had the special ability) and moves most stuff up.

 

I move everything up just a bit and my long fangs and vindicator say HI to the front Falcon

I down the first Falcon and his fire dragons and farseer get out

Turn 2

He moves his fire dragons and farseer up a hill but role bad and only get on top everything moves forward again and his 2 falcons jump to the other side of the board. some shooting, nothing bad happens to me.

 

On the right i move up my Rhino so i can get out and melta his falcon and move the lonewolf in a forest where the Harlequin's are (MISTAKE)

I move my left Rhino up 6 get out and rapid fire his Fire dragons taking them out to 1 man and the farseer. My rune priest gets some lightning in and half my long fangs say hi again, all dead, I melta the falcon with the Banshees and it gets immobilized but as it was going fast it crashed the Banshees get out and get a warm welcome from my Vindicator down to 2.

Turn 3

He moves his Harlequin's towards my GH that shot his Farseer and dragons. and the rest starts to fall back, he charges my GH (those hurt) 2 are standing at the end. I kill 2, i stay in combat.

 

I move in my Thunder wolves in support of the GH's that get killed by the Harlequin's and also sent the lonewolf that way (MISTAKE), I move the right GH on top of a building and move the rino towards the Banshees so they cant regroup

The thunder wolves charge in but my lord has no room to make it in CC, I take down a large portion and there down to 5 he takes down my remaining 2 GH, we stay locked in combat.

 

Turn 4

He keeps moving back and in CC he loses 3 more Harlequin but hits and runs away. blows up my Rhino

 

I move my thunder wolves (lost 1 in CC) to his base and move my Lone wolf to the Wraith lord (SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT FROM TURN 1)

 

Turn 5 He moves up everything he has to stop my thunder wolves and charges

At the end of turn 5 i didn't get to whip out any full troops and he didn't kill all my wolves and had my lord down to 1 wound.

So end of game

 

I killed his 2 falcons his farseer and his dragons, he killed my GH a Rhino and DID NOT KILL MY LONE WOLF

 

4-3, minor victory to me

Game 3

 

Thousand sons Seek end destroy, table quarters deployment.

Franski.

 

He had 2 groups of thousand sons one Nurgel SM group a flying sorcerer, 2 Defiler's, Greater Daemon of Nurgle and Pink Horrors of Tzeentch in reserve

 

Not much cover on this board but i have a nice building for my longfangs in the back, left to right, razorback, rhino, thunderwolves, suport GH, rhino 2 and vindicator.

He has first turn and moves everything up, shoots and not much happens,

I redeploy some stuff for LOS and move 2 rhino's up

I split fire on his Defiler and his thousand sons and immobilize and remove main gun of his Defiler and take down 1 or 2 thousand sons

Lascannons on the razor does nothing my vindy and LL takes a chunk out of his other thousand sons.

 

Turn 2

He summons his Greater daemon and moves his sorcerer in range of my thunderwolves next to my left rhino moves up his right thousand sons and nurgel marines and his other defiler.

Shooting does some hurt on my thunderwolves. he charges my Rhino with his Greater daemon and leave 6 GH's sitting in a nice crater thinking what happened and get pinned. Charges my thunder wolves with his sorcerer and takes some wounds of me and i give some back

 

I move my Lonewolf to the Deamon thinking i can get him killed fast this time and move my thunder-wolves in to help out in case.

On the right i move the rhino so it will block the movement of his defiler so he cant dig in to my GH and move my vindicator so i get LOS to his thousand sons melta the defiler, he cant shoot next turn, Vindicate the remaining thousand sons, las his other defiler immobile and take his shooty guns with the razor and he can only flame now and i'm out of range. las and rocket and bolter his remaining thousand sons down to 2.

Charge the daemon with my lonewolf hoping to get a glorious death lose both wolves and 1 wound

doing 1 wound to daemon Thunderwolves kill of the sorcerer and move in support to the lonewolf

 

Turn 3

Moves up and summons his pinks in front of my pinned GH's, shoots his 2 remaining thousand sons at my pinned GH and kills one and his Nurgle marines shoot the pack of GH shooting at the right defiler and take down one or 2 .He charges my blocking rhino with his defiler and immobilizes it and assaults my GH that are pinned but as there in cover they go first and take the pinks down to 4.

 

I move my thunder wolves closer to the daemon and shoot my vindicator and support GH at his nurgle removing a huge chunk of them shoot the defiler again and mobilize it and in CC my GH with the pink lose 3 and he loses 2, I break but save the wounds.

The thunderwolfs hit the Daemon and he hist them back doing wounds both ways I lose i thunderwolf but stay in combat.

 

Turn 4

He shoots his nurgle marines again and kills one or so and in CC i take out his pinks and his daemon.

 

I move everything to the defiler and the remaining marines but shooting removes the rest of the board.

 

2 KP for him and 8 for me.

 

Sure there are wrongs in this but this is what i remember.

Nicely done.

 

Do you think a pack of 2 TWC + TWLord and 3 TWC would have done quite as well if they all had SS's and a TH in each pack?

 

Hoping to get answers on this soon, as TWC if they hold seem deadly.

 

The thunderhammer is not what killed the troops it did kill the sorcerer but it had 2 wounds left and i hit it 2X failing his inv so it was pretty dead.

Fantastic Battle reports, great reading. Love seeing Russ's wolves delivering a serious dose of pain on Thousand Sons.

Currently trying to decide how to arm my TWC and how to use them. Your reports gave me some good insight into what I should do. Nice to read what a unit actually delivers rather than a statistical calculation of what a unit should achieve. Thank you very much Mr Dammit. Btw nice looking army and well played.
