Xander Qruze
I've just got back to gaming (work have been keeping me from my puppies) so I gotta ask this; I apologize if this is the wrong section to ask or if it has been asked before- if so, can someone point me to a link? According to BRB page 36 under 'Assaulting through Cover' on the 2nd paragraph " ...if an assaulting unit had to take a difficult or dangerous terrain test during their assault move, all of its models have their initiative value lowered to 1 when attacking,..." Since that Murderous Hurricane(possibly Tempests' Wrath) causes dangerous terrain tests to be taken when assaulting, would it still affect enemies' initiative value if say, they are assaulting a grey hunter squad out in the open(ie-not in dangerous terrain/area.) Reason I'm asking is I saw a friend did that to a Daemons player(not that I have any love for em' anyways :) ) so I asked him and he just said I was getting 'rusty', heheh! Reading the BRB and the 'fluff' part of assaulting through cover, seems 'weird' yet by RAW 'seems' plausible. Thanks for all the help mates, cheerz!~! Grimtooth
That is how it works and it looks like it was intentional. In facf for both powers the unit treats terrain as both difficult AND dangerous. So that unit assaulting has to roll to see if they can even get into assault. If they do, they all then roll dangerous terrain tests to see who rolls a 1 and dies with no save allowwd. Finally, they strike last if they don't have assault grenades. Thanks again for the help, Cheerz! Put yourself in cover as well, rapid firing them all the way in, and then counter-attack when they charge you. They have nothing to negate your cover and there is a good chance you will have wiped them all out before they can even strike back. Grey Mage
Best power for a Rune Priest facing Daemons- Tempests Wrath. Heck, take two. Hell wish he was playing GKs. Technically, They have to roll the Difficult Terrain Test, and assuming any can make it, the first closest to closest guy has to take the Dangerous Terrain Test. If he fails it and dies, the second closest guy has to make the range to the assaulted unit. If he's out of range, the assault doesn't occur. If he's in range, he has to take the dangerous terrain test and pass the make the assault actually happen. Basically, just carry a note card with your powers on it, so any Daemon players can just forfeit. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212608-murderous-hurricane-and-assaulting-through-cover/#findComment-2530117 Share on other sites
