DC and Redeemers

I have this LRR in my closet all set to be a BT LRC. I have already have a BA LRC and think 15 DC plus chaplain in a LRC would be far cooler and of course more devestating albeit more expensive than the LRR. That said, does anyone use the LRR in conjunction with DC? Should I just opt for the LRC and a bigger squad?

Since the LR hull is already black I figured it would be DC if it were to go from by BT to my BA. Just add red 'x's and I'm set.

Thoughts?

I've been proxying my LRC as a redeemer while testing out lists, and to be honest you really only get one shot, maybe two per game using the flamers, whereas you have a chance to fire off the hurricane bolter every turn. But if all you're looking for is to soften up a unit before charging in with the DC, then the LRR does work.
I've tended to enjoy using the LRC more than the LRR. Like Brother Kovash said the LRR rarely get's to use the flamers more than once before it's wrecked while the LRC gernally get's to make much more use out of it's weaponry while in transite. However I have had a few games where the LRR has just run amock in an opponents backfield once it dropped of it's cargo, these games are few and far between though. Neither one is a bad choice, just different.

I'm using the LRR for my DC, I figure that the Flamestorms are cooler and while I have only had one game with enough points to support both the DC and the LRR since I got it to a basic tabletop standard, the flames did so much more than I could of hoped for.

For some reason the other guy unloaded 2 Rhinos full of Chaos Marines to rapid fire at the RAS with the Libby and Priest in front of the LRR, I may have been because the Shield of Sanguinious saved the Redeemer from 3 pens the shooting round before.

But basically I was able to move the Redeemer 6" into a position to flamer 2 units knocking off 6 in one unit and 5 in the other.

But basically, would you prefer 4 extra Death company in the LRC or use that 90points to buy 6 power weapons for the "smaller" 11 man Death Company

If you have 15 dc inside then killing infantry 6 inches away is no real issue. The LRC is the superior choice in nearly all situations much like the TLAC Razorback

I am going to quietly disagree with you there. I think the LRR is great for DC. The DC should be moving a fast a possible towards their targets and the LRR does that perfectly as you will never think about moving 6" so that you can fire all the weapons. The LRR is also that little bit cheaper and has a capacity of 12 which I think is perfect for 10 DC (nearly overkill there) and a chaplin. Anymore and it is really overkill and a unit that is too expensive.

I also think that when you get close with the LRR the Flamestorm becomes the weapon of choice and with S6 Template, why bother about the TLAC. Keep moving 12" and shooting I say.

The LRR is perfect for the DC...and who knows when you can use it for the BT.

I agree with redo 100%. People don't understand overkill. 10 dc with a chap is near overkill just like he said so you don't need a lr with an even higher capacity. I would always run dc with a chaplain. This effectively makes 5 dc with a chaplain = 8 to 10 dc without a chaplain. Roughly...
