NO BLOOD - NO FOUL!
Guys, I'm working on (or at least starting on) a Daemonic army. Going over the options I definately want to include Nurgle units. Of all the traits you attribute to the different chaos gods the toughness of Nurgle is the one I like best, so that is something that I really want to include in my force. My question is which of the other three gods best complements the Nurgle units when building an army? I know the codex was written with a chaos lovefest in mind, but I just don't think that's very fluffy. I want my army to be about a pact between two chaos entities. Personally I'm leaning towards Slaanesh, I like that god fluff wise and think the close combat prowess might help on the tabletop. On the other hand the enhanced ward save makes Tzeentch units tough as well and the shooting ability might help also. So I have a bit of a dilemma, could you help me solve it? Thanks. hazardousZERO
Khorne is great. You can send in the killy khorne units wile the nurgle units hold the objectives. Talon Darkshade
If your only going to run two gods I would say Khorne or Slaanesh. You need something to hit hard with and the shooty nature of Tzeentch is not going to give that to you long term. If your going to go Slaan I would thinks elements like 2 x GDs & Fiends and some Seekers for speed will give you the punch you want while you can front load your troops with Plaguebeares and Heavys with Nurgle DPs Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212699-two-god-combinations/#findComment-2530397 Share on other sites
NO BLOOD - NO FOUL!
Thanks for the replies guys. What I forgot to say that this army would be my introduction into 40K. For the past year I've played BoC/beastmen in WHF. That said I don't have the personal experience to really make an educated decision about this armylist. I'm basically going by two Chaos Daemon guides and what you guys are advising me. :P Khorne? From what I've read, people tend to love Khorne for it's killing power or dislike Khorne because it's too slow. Myself I'm a bit torn, though I'm leaning towards units with a bit of speed. I like bloodcrushers, but the other units I'm not that sure about. I know I don't like painting bloodletters........ :) Slaanesh? I tend to want to go that way. I like the idea of KOS', heralds and fiends. Daemonettes seem cool, though I'm a bit hesitant because they're so fragile. @ Talon Darkshade I'm a bit surprised you're advising seekers. Up till now everything I've read says stay away, too fragile. Fiends are better. What is your take on seekers? Talon Darkshade
When it comes to Daemonettes it's either Seekers or nothing. A difference of a few points and you gain so much movement and threat bubble. Daemonettes on foot are (as you said) to fragile to run small and don't have the movement nessecary to get stuck in quickly to avoid being shot to peices. You can buy Ds on Foot in big blocks of 16-20 to avoid their lack of survivablity but then your chalking up points for a unit that will not return thier pts back, so I would advise against it unless your die hard for the "chicks". The speed of the seeker plays well for a counter strike unit. If your Plaguebearers get assaulted your Seekers can "zoom" out of near by terrain they were hiding in and counter strike with High I attacks. Giving you the punch you need to see the unit assaulting your bearers dead. All this being said I personnaly don't use Seekers. I merely suggested them to counter the limitations of duo-god list where one slot was already devoted to Good ole Grandpapy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212699-two-god-combinations/#findComment-2530931 Share on other sites
