Custom Ogre Obliterators

Recommended Posts

i am thankful that i brought a few modelling supplies with me for my trip offshore for work. i decided to mix some terminator and devastator parts with some ogres that i bought a long time ago but decided i didnt want to play fantasy. so after a few rough drawings i came up with a few guys like this. its a kind of sow process i work about 30-45 mins a night before i go to bed and i only have my crappy iphone to take pictures so sorry bout that. but anyways here is my first one

Borgo "Brings Da Hawt"

bits used are the devs plasma cannon, a chan fist cut to fit on the flamer from the marine dread sprue.

im going to try and not do the usualy glue tons of guns on and mash some green stuff across crappy fitting to make it look like warp fused flesh. i like the idea of an obliterator just packing a crap ton of guns and ammo. who better a choice than a big ogryn!

tommorow ill finish his right shoulder pad and the guilding on his left and start his back pack. after that ill get some tubes and wires for his weapons and mask.

lemme know what ya think

The idea is nice and so is the model, but an Obliterator morphs half a dozen different guns so perhaps a single plasma cannon is a bit too little to model their diversity. The concept is sound though but, at the risk of sounding like an Ork, the model needs more guns! Perhaps a meltagun or flamer slung under the plasma cannon, like a fiery long-range bayonet?

I also wonder what you are planning to do with the belly plate, it still looks rather fantasy Orge-ish. Unless you're playing World Eaters and paint a globe between those teeth, it may prove hard to Chaosify it.

Good luck with the big guy and any other Obliterator-Ogre hybrids you may build in the future though. Have fun vaporising any armoured troops your opponent dares to field!

Well actually both arms and the head are just tacked on with putty to show what the general concept is going to be. I do plan to modify the belly plate like the rest of the armor. The plasma

will have a bayonet and I plan to put a melta somewhere on him. Also I just try to imagine him being able to switch his weapon power or frequency to what type of shot he wants since all oblits are energy or flame weapons

I do plan to make a cyborg type guy and was thinking of using the belly. I was thinking like 4 flamer heads surrounding a melta barrel with some tunes coming out of his belly to a manifold on a tank mounted on his back and for his arms I wanted to use an ork power claw for one and a las cannon held like a rifle in the other just like borgo does the plasma cannon.

The pics are taken with my iPhone and I took a bunch at different distances but these were the best lol. I'll try to improve.

Does anyone know a good way to make rivets on the gilding? Like is there a good tool people buy or male or some super thin plastic rod people use? I tried making some with green stuff but can't get it Down well. I might just wait till I get back on land to look for something or just paint the effect of them.

If you guys have any ideas I could use for anything on these guys lemme know. I have aobr termis, chaos termi bits, ogre bulls bits and devastator bits plus normal guitar wire and green stuff to use while out here in the ocean. I kind of work well when I got a plan or a challenge the problem normally is I cant make up my mind at times lol

so i kind of figured it out on how to do the belly. im debating if its just a bit too long. i need to figure a housing of some sort to hide the area where its glued to the belly plate. for this guy i plan to make him more cybernetic but not like the mutated oblit style. i really do not like the writhing flesh look, plus i already made a few a while back so i wanna do somthing new like i said before. i just need to sketch and think more. plus it seems i forgot to put the power klaw i thought i had in my portable bits box so ima have to make a klaw or piece together a whole servo type arm that resembles one.

so here he is, the beginings of Doobz "I got da Fiya"

heres a pic of the old oblit i made from from spare bits and green stuff.

the legs are extended space marine legs with lots of green stuff, the body is the psyker chaos termi front torso fitted onto a multi melta back pack which the arms are mounted to the exhausts. and the rest you can tell by looking between the loads of green stuff, not my favorite works but it beats paying 20 bucks for a oblit thats just as ugly lol, especially when you need to make 6.
