That token system is like (if you fear that so much)

1 token Furious Charge

2 tokens Feel no pain

3 tokens Fearless

They gain 1 after they defeat an enemy unit by shooting it to death or close combat. So big units should have no worries here, Spacemarine combat squads is another story.

Note: they get a free one if a Haemonculus is attached.

Missile Long Fangs murder the new DE. Adding Living Lightning and similar autocannon shots is equally hilarious because 1) Low AVs and 2) it ignores FNP (double T3) on almost everything. Massed bolters tear apart DE squads, especially with a flamer or two.

As long as you don't get too aggressive, SW roflstomp DE. They have some answers (Dark lances are good, but less common, AV, poison is hard on TWolves, etc.) but have trouble dealing with basic SW strengths- high T and 3+save with lots of shooting AND CC options. Lelith is not so scary if you approach it logically- 1) down her craft with missiles/autocannons/assaultcannons/massed bolters (if she is not in a vehicle, you have it even easier) 2) Bolter death her squad- this may force her to take some saves. 10 T3 models should die to about 23 bolter shots- double that in cover unless you have flamers- flamers eat the squads face. 3) If she is still around, put an autocannon/assault cannon/missile volley on her and watch her instagib (two hits should nuke her on average).

Stay in vehicles to avoid assaults and choose targets carefully. Cover is a real pain to DE anti-tank shooting due to losing the plentiful warrior lances (Ravagers are still dangerous, but low AV and total Missile bait). If you keep power weapons away, and whittle the squads, it makes them far less scary. Consider that 1 10 man squad rapidfiring kills about 9 DE on average with no save. At 24 inches, its 4-5. Ouch! And a RF squad also averages 2 glances on AV 10, which open top really helps with. Deepstrinking Raiders is just asking for death- better to rush up, dump and assault.

I said this in a DE thread at Dakka:

I have seen nothing in the new DE dex that I cannot crush with my all-comers list.

And that is exactly my view on the dex. Veteran DE players will play the army very well, but they will not be facerooling out the gate nor later on when the DE meta game gets established.

I played against someone who had rules VERY similar to those of the new ones; all I can say is, I went straight ahead with my classic Wolves tactic; charge, charge, CHARGE! Then I realised that those heavy boxes in my hands were actually GOOD weapons.
