MaveriK
In 101.M31 the Eldar of craftworld Ulthwé somehow saved the fortunes of House Belisarius. In return for their aid the Belisarius gave them 7 coins, when one of these coins was presented to a member of house Belisarius they would drop what they were doing and put themselves and whatever resources house Belisarius had available at the disposal of the Eldar. The navigator would send the coin back to Terra, and 1/7 of the debt House Belisarius owed to the Eldar would be considered fulfilled. This agreement was known as the Pact of Anwyn. could you just imagine if the Eldar called upon the House of Belisarius for aid, and the Space Wolves were obligated to fight along side the Eldar against the Imperium? I can see the Inquisition take action and see it as treason, which could cause civil war against the sons of Russ. This "what if" could make a really good story! anyway, just saying... No, I cant see that, for several reasons- 1) Space Wolves arent beholden to the House Belisarius. The Wolfblade is, but thats only 20 men, 1/10th of a great company. 2) The Wolf Blade would follow their navigators, but it could go sour at any moment, if for example the Wolf Blade feels the navigator has fallent o chaos- bolt to the head, ally or not. 3) At worst, youd have 20 Space Wolves who would never be allowed to come home, who would be forced out into the cold loneliness of the galaxy, and a Great Wolf who would love to slap the hell out of some of his closest allies. 4) The Eldar arent stupid- it would cripple an entire segmentum trying to bring the Space Wolves out of the fang in a bodybag. Thats after the long, arduous and difficult trial of course. If the imperium falls their best source of cannon fodder is gone, their shields against chaos and the tyranid threat... *POOF*. No, they just arent that dumb. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212859-pact-of-anwyn/#findComment-2532314 Share on other sites
Growler67
I am in th eoutline stage of a "Fan Fiction" of my own in where the paths of an Eldar and a Son of Russ cross. I will say no more on the details but when it is completed it will be posted here on the B&C. The Navigators have a power that the rest of humanity do not. They have a familiarity and knowledge about Warp Travel that has empowered the Navis Nobilitae. Everyone knows the Eldar has unparalleled prowess with knowledge and travels through the Warp of space. It is not inconceivable that occurances such as this pact come to be. Perhaps without the availability of a Farseer (loss in battle or whatever) made return to their homeworld impossible and were aided by a Navigator from one of the Houses to return and in gratitude (of sorts - or perhaps a debt of honor if it makes it easier to relate) is avowed. Stranger things happen in the 40k universe and the Inquisition isn't always a right as they think they are. Just sayin'.
