Ultramarine Assault Marines

Hi Folks,

I'm still enjoying building up my small army of Ultramarines. My latest additions are this small squad of five Assault Marines which I've really enjoyed assembling ad painting. Out of all the models in the Space Marine arsenal, these plus the Terminators are my favourites.

I've adapted my paint scheme slightly by using an 80/20 ratio of Chaos Black and Regal Blue in the recesses and brightened the edge highlights by going right up to Space Wolves Grey. Hopefully these figures 'pop' more than my previous efforts.

Anyway, enough chat - what do you think?

Nice work. All beakies, all the time!

The only thing that bothers me about them is the combination of the beakie helm on the sergeant, combined with the Champion pads and the strapped torso...makes him look a little disproportional. It's probably just the camera angle, though.

Hi Folks,

I had a few spares and bits from trades that I thought to assemble into marines. Here are four of the five Marines assembled - two Tactical Marines and two Assault Marines. I have a third Assault Marine that should hopefully be finished tomorrow. What do you think?

Cheers!

Here's another couple of shots of my most recent Ultras:
