2500kgm3
Here I introduce you the state of my DIY Chapter master/captain of the fitfth company, Longinos Felis. It is a miniature thought to work as a count-as Marneus Calgar in terminator armour, so it has a pair of huge powerfists and a power weapon (a spear in this case, which houses the bolter weapon). The components are: Black reach terminator sergeant Two bolters from a scout sprue A warriors of chaos helmet a power sword a shield from a warriors of chaos sprue some skulls pastic a lot of brownsuff the model has been sightly truescaled, and the armour has been turned into layered armour plates with transparent plastic, which does not show that well in the pics. I am asking for advice about how to improve the model. Should it be more ornate? what kind of ornaments should I model and where? I did not find a place for the shield, since it does not fit between the wings and I don't want it to cover the fur in the cape. Do you have any advice? http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/3927/p1010673b.jpg http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/5328/p1010739.jpg http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/5189/p1010740u.jpg http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/4799/p1010741u.jpg http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/5243/p1010742w.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212928-snow-leopards-terminator-chapter-master/ Share on other sites
S. Bloodhowl
It's bit hard to make out some details but from what I can make out it look great man. I'm confused with the 'Snow Leopards' and the fact he has wings though, also, where is the shield on him? celes
Guuaaah? ...sorry, I just had to reattach my jaw there. If you're really struggling with where to put the shield, you could make a few more and give them to honour guards or some such? 2500kgm3
Thanks! I just don't find it to be ornate enough to be a chapter master in terminator armour. The Snow Leopards are a chapter with the head of a feline as a symbol, and fur tabards. They are quite similar to the Ultramarines in doctrine (although they do not bother with company colours). The Leopard serves only for totemic purpouses, it is not a nod to Space Wolves and norse culture. Most of their commanders have wings of some sort, as a connection to the Imperial Aquila symbol, as direct servants of the Emperor. Maybe I could add some celtic motifs in a certain part of the armour (you name it), to reinforce the animal side of the chapter? (I am starting to like that) Maybe some laurel leaves to reinforce the feeling of a similar doctrine to the ultramarines? Maybe something else I have not thought of? About honour guards, I would love to build a power armored command honour guard, but I have no funds avaliable right now... and my bit box is rather tiny xD I was wondering about leaving the shield on the base, or if I should just leave it for other conversions (such as a combat shield for a command squad champion) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212928-snow-leopards-terminator-chapter-master/#findComment-2534044 Share on other sites
Wicced
I was wondering about leaving the shield on the base, or if I should just leave it for other conversions (such as a combat shield for a command squad champion) the model looks great so far :) i think you should use the shield for another conversion, because he already has two HUGE fists and a spear, the shield would let him look overburdened. just my two cents Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212928-snow-leopards-terminator-chapter-master/#findComment-2534175 Share on other sites
LuNCHBiZZLe
looks ace, as for a "cheap" command squad you could use the new blood angel guys with all the icons filed off or sculpted over, with the shield you sculpted I think they would look pretty B-A. 2500kgm3
Finally, this has been the result. The quality of the photos is quite bad, as I had to use flash to take them, and displaying the miniature with that ammount of zoom does not make the paintjob any favour. Maybe a lighter-brownish colour for the cape would have suited the model better. I don't know if I mentioned it previously, but the hairstyle and beard of the model is inspired in my own face. http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/3205/dsc01493h.jpg http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1632/dsc01495w.jpg http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/2363/dsc01496no.jpg http://img860.imageshack.us/img860/7695/dsc01497y.jpg http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/5579/dsc01499t.jpg http://img861.imageshack.us/img861/3749/dsc01500b.jpg http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/5305/dsc01501mk.jpg http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/4135/dsc01502ee.jpg Together with my wife, you can see with a scale closer to reality, the miniature looks much better. http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/6540/dsc01494u.jpg here you can see a low quality preview of the rules for this minature (in Spanish) I am eager to crush ork faces with him, although with the luck of my dice, he will be dead before reaching any enemy. http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/4162/longinosfelis01.jpg http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/1235/longinosfelis02.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/212928-snow-leopards-terminator-chapter-master/#findComment-2745990 Share on other sites
