ChrisSpaceWolves
On another forum, someone came up with the idea of creating a SM army painted up in the Charities colors and then selling it on e-bay with the donation button going to Susan G Komen foundation. I figured I'd hit you all up and see if anyone wanted to join in on the project. Here is my submission. Feel free to hit me with a PM and let me know if you want to get in on it. Anything from Codex: Space Marines is welcome as a donation, and as I said we'll be using the donation function. Thanks Chris http://i332.photobucket.com/albums/m339/ChrisMBianchi/100_6501.jpg http://i332.photobucket.com/albums/m339/ChrisMBianchi/100_6500.jpg http://i332.photobucket.com/albums/m339/ChrisMBianchi/100_6499.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213017-making-a-difference-painting-for-charity/ Share on other sites
BorisBC
great idea mate! Not sure what country you are in, but here in Oz we have heaps of this sort of thing. Pink is for Breast Cancer rED is for AIDS research (should be easy with all the BA players!) Yellow is for Cancer research (again an easy one!) Purple and Yellow is for the Starlight kids foundation Unicef is light blue (think UN blue) Red Cross/Crescent (red and white) This is actually a really cool idea that I might just steal - my workplace does a lot for the Starlight Foundation, and they are always telling us we can take time off for charity.. so I could get paid to paint mini's! And it'll be for a good cause! Win!! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213017-making-a-difference-painting-for-charity/#findComment-2536058 Share on other sites
WingsOfTheFalcon
A superb idea, though I might suggest painting the marines in 'standard' chapters as they are more likely to sell for a higher amount and therefore raise more for the charity? Iacton Qruze
A superb idea, though I might suggest painting the marines in 'standard' chapters as they are more likely to sell for a higher amount and therefore raise more for the charity? gotta agree with that. maybe add the pink ribbon on a single shoulder or knee pad, similar to a campaign marking. Enough to stand out and show the army's inspiration, without making them look like pretty marines. Firepower
Or maybe just pick a charity with a better associated color :) . I can't stop thinking of those old Hello Kitty marines looking at that guy. Anyway, good idea, and good luck with the fundraising. I second the motion that an established chapter which would likely sell for more is probably a better idea. LordOrdGermany
I am thibnking of using the symbol you expressed on picture one as sort of a campaign-honour-insignia on a part of a "normal" Space Marine armour. You would have the chance of painting more common marines and additionally express your idea-->better selling with the same ethos! Good idea man Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213017-making-a-difference-painting-for-charity/#findComment-2538384 Share on other sites
