Zeller
An easy question. Are there DC dreadnoughts that are not furiosos? I'm sure it makes more sense to throw some blood crazed looney who wants to tear your skin off and feed it to you into a dreadnought with 2 hands but surely some brothers are more apt to use their assault cannon as a bullet-like sawblade? Afterall some DC have bolters. The tie being that the bolter is a ranged weapon and requires careful aim to use well just as the assault cannon would be. I've got 2 black dreads with assault cannons. I'm not sure if painting them with some nice red x's will be flufflistically wrong. Inb4 it's your army, do what you want. Brother Nathan
the deadnaughts weapons are interchangeable, but as is in the moriar fluff, the dread wants to smash stuff, and has a stormbolter and meltagun but in to shootwhen its at range. also rules wise at the moment it dosent work... shatter
I'm a little unsure of what you're after here, Zeller. You want DC dreads with a non-CC arm? I don't think so as it contravenes WYSIWYG. I think you'd have to make the "I'm proxying this because it looks cool" statement which doesn't play in tourneys. Jakobus
I'm sure the Heavy dread pilots have at somepoint fallen to the Black Rage. But the Chaplains would have a quiet word to the techmarines after Moripatris and outfit them with the scared talons. But as Shatter says, it may be too much of an issue with WYSIWYG especially in tournies. Fluffwise its cool, get you average player who hasn't read the erquipment options for a DC dread will look at it and think Assault Cannon Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213019-dc-dreads/#findComment-2534825 Share on other sites
Zeller
Allow me to explain. I'm not looking to counts as the assault cannon dreads as DC furiosos. I'm wondering if there are simply regular dreadnought configurations with DC pilots. Basically I'm looking for a reason to paint red x's on my black templar dreadnoughts and use them in my BA force without stripping them and repainting them red. I suppose I could give them extra armor and keep a priest nearby to get a similar set of rules for the dreads as the DC furioso counterparts. shatter
Go right ahead. Nothing in the codex tells you what colours your stuff has to be. WYSIWYG is about wargear representing the unit (rules) for the most part (except paint wargear such as ork red paint job, etc). ie. The gun says what unit choice it is.
