Black Templar Jump Infantry

Black Bear

A long, long time ago in a galaxy far far away--alright, it was only 8 years and 600 miles away--I began to gather the parts for my jump infantry. I eventually gathered all the parts I needed--assault squads, space wolves, dark elves, warriors of chaos, chaos space marines, khorne berzerkers, iron warriors, chaos terminators, and Black Templars--and constructed my fast response, emperor's justice dealing, madmen of plastic. Then they sat looking at me for a year and a half. I finally realized that I was never going to paint them. For some reason known only to the emperor and the farseers of the thrice darned eldar, I knew I would never do it. So I gave them to a bloke that runs around these here parts--West Texas--by the handle Stormcrow. He handed back these chaps you see now.

I always saw the jump infantry as the "knights" of the Black Templar. As such I had Stormcrow paint each one a coat of arms on the left shoulder pad. Actually got the idea after I got my copy of space hulk.

As you can see Stormcrow is pretty good.

sweet. I like the idea of making them more knight-ish, always a sound approach when dealing with BT. Adding personal heraldry is an excellent way to do so.

The freehand and conversion work is very effective and soundly done. I would only suggest that you add more highlighting on the black armor, if there is any at all -- I can't tell on the pictures.

cheers!

I must ask?

Where is the throwingstar from, on the marine to the far right?

Cheers!

It is an external star washer. I don't remember the size exactly, but I believe the size is 1/8 or 1/4 inch. You can find them at the hardware aisle of any hardware store (Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware in the US).
