Black Bear
A long, long time ago in a galaxy far far away--alright, it was only 8 years and 600 miles away--I began to gather the parts for my jump infantry. I eventually gathered all the parts I needed--assault squads, space wolves, dark elves, warriors of chaos, chaos space marines, khorne berzerkers, iron warriors, chaos terminators, and Black Templars--and constructed my fast response, emperor's justice dealing, madmen of plastic. Then they sat looking at me for a year and a half. I finally realized that I was never going to paint them. For some reason known only to the emperor and the farseers of the thrice darned eldar, I knew I would never do it. So I gave them to a bloke that runs around these here parts--West Texas--by the handle Stormcrow. He handed back these chaps you see now. I always saw the jump infantry as the "knights" of the Black Templar. As such I had Stormcrow paint each one a coat of arms on the left shoulder pad. Actually got the idea after I got my copy of space hulk. http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jisquad1.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jisquad22.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jisquad2.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jisquad14.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jisquad13.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jisquad12.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jisquad23.jpg Some of the left pads. http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jigoldenhalo.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jilatern.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jiblackrose.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jiwreath.jpg http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb311/BlackestBear/Black%20Templar/jiflamingadeptus.jpg As you can see Stormcrow is pretty good. augustmanifesto
sweet. I like the idea of making them more knight-ish, always a sound approach when dealing with BT. Adding personal heraldry is an excellent way to do so. The freehand and conversion work is very effective and soundly done. I would only suggest that you add more highlighting on the black armor, if there is any at all -- I can't tell on the pictures. cheers! Validar
I'll admit, the lack of highlights drowned in the awesomeness for me - but I'd be inclined to agree. Otherwise -awesome- models ! I don't like the reversed chainblade, but the rest is totally over-the-top cool :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213051-black-templar-jump-infantry/#findComment-2534902 Share on other sites

Where is the throwingstar from, on the marine to the far right? Cheers! Black Bear
I must ask?Where is the throwingstar from, on the marine to the far right? Cheers! It is an external star washer. I don't remember the size exactly, but I believe the size is 1/8 or 1/4 inch. You can find them at the hardware aisle of any hardware store (Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace Hardware in the US). Firepower
Im not much of a fan of the Zerker hands on account of size, but these models are pretty solid. As has been said, the black could use highlights, but beyond that the character of each marine is stellar. The poses and freehand go a long way. tyrannosaurus
Highlight is the freehand cross on the helmet, as well as the leather gloves. Gives it all an 'Azreal' [from Batman] kinda feel. Loving your work. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213051-black-templar-jump-infantry/#findComment-2536513 Share on other sites
