40k Junkie
I am looking for a doubles partner and want to find one that compliments the army well. The jist is the team has 2500 points, each army on the 1250. So who do think would make a good space wolves partner? Wysten
Depends how offensive you intend on being and what you want out of your partner. A good Tau player can make for extremely effective long range support provided he stays away from fire warrior spam and more towards the hammerheads/Crisis suits, with imperial guard also being really good allies due to the amount of armour and melta they can put out. Highly aggressive space wolves may find Tynaids or BA a good match. Basically, depends what army best compliments your style. Wolf Guard Dan
The only army that can keep up with Space Wolves is Space Wolves. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213054-doubles-tournament/#findComment-2534783 Share on other sites
Evilbob
I've found Guard to work out pretty good as well. Lots of bodies to make up for playing some of the more expensive units (Thunderwolves and the like). Plus, if you don't mind doing it, it's pretty easy to bog units down and sacrifice the guard to keep enemies at bay, defend flanks, and set up better charges for yourself. Thunderhawk3015
Like Wysten said, depends on what you intend to do. Last tourny I played for doubles I took a 1250 force that could do everything it needed to do on its own. I would suggest this so if your team mate gets tabled then you can put up one heck of a fight on your own. Tau can provide very good long range firing support with a highly mobile platform base that could be hard to catch. Although it would require the both of you to complement one another properly as you will focus on one aspect while the other will focus on the other. Although in all honesty finding a good tau player will be difficult but finding one that knows there stuff and are considered dangerous is rare! Thats the player you want..... Again good luck as far as I know there are only 3 very good active tau players in the state MN that competed in semi finals of ard boyz and almost took top 3 to go to finals. ^-^ Although Other good subs I would have to say a sisters of battle, exorcist tanks are incredibly sick at such low point value games per partner + they have good armor saves and nasty faith points to burn. my last choice would be honestly elder.... They do have a very good mix that does complement space marines and wolves well. Over all I'd pick between tau and sisters of battle IMO.... Rail guns or Exorcist launchers = BAD BAD Day for armor and heavy troops.
