Black Templar Mk V Femal LRC

Black Bear

Recommended Posts

I've been working on this LRC for my crusade. I bought it used and the air vents on the back had been melted and twisted. It also had 4 coats of paint on it. I couldn't figure what to do with it so it sat on my desk for years. When the bastion kit came out I finally knew I had all the pieces I needed to "fix" the LRC. So I grabbed my saw and got to work. I cut the entire middle out of the LRC leaving only the floor. I then recycled the ramp, front,

and exhaust

of the LRC filling in the gaps with card and cities of death parts.

I then cut out the bastion gun emplacements, glued the together, and put card on top and bottom. These then went on the sides.

A SOB's exorcist top soon found itself perched on the LRC

while its turret, with some help from stormwing ass. cannons, was modified.

The exorcist turret ring fit in the front hole for the ass. cannons. I then modded the plastic LRC multimelta to sit on this with a gunner.

I had planned to put hatches on the ring, but there really wasn't any room for them to sit.

For the rear hole on the top I put the bastion comm ring on and placed the terminator beacon in the middle.

With a tourny coming up I slapped a couple of rhino doors on the sides, gave it a slap of paint (at this point I had was out of 8 colors of paint), and went off to play.

Now the tourny is over and I need to get back to work on it. It has a lot of flat space it is begging me to do something with. Only problem is I am not for sure what I want to do. I am thinkink about maybe taking skeletons, cutting them flat, and applying them so that it looks more of a mural or bas relief (I think bas relief is the term I am thinking of), but I am not for sure. I know I need some lights on the front somewhere, but I haven't quite figured out how I want them to look yet. I also need to get some mold lines off of some pieces such as the mm gunner's arms.

But here are some more pics.

As always let me hear what you think, even if its just that you hate it, me, and my entire family. :)

It's a pillbox on treads...which I suppose is the point of a Landraider. But some spots are left a bit plain as it stands, like the top and sides. The beauty of BT is that all that empty space fills up nicely with quick and easy scripture. You dont have to go gluing new bits on, just strategically place some white dots n' dashes along the larger empty spaces and marvel at your aweseomeness.

Awesome LR, but one problem. Are the melta gunner's feet dangling behind the assault ramp? He's awfully close to the door.

he actualy control the assault ramp with is feet! in the 41th millenium, the technology is not what it used to be, some task have now to be done manualy

I just don't like all that flat, empty space. There are some flat pieces from the bastion that can be places in the windows if you wish. I might try doing something with these. If I can't figure something out I probably will have a guy I know (Stormcrow, the guy who did my jump infantry shoulder pads) paint something on it for me.

I had actually just thought the gunner would raise and lock his legs into a sort of spread kneeling position, but I like tiny sam's explanation better.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
