aekold
Looking good. The metal seems a bit flat though, maybe give it a bit of a wash.
Masterofthefleet667
I gave it a wash. Its Devlan Mud. What would you sugest I use to make it stand out more? Bear in mind though, my chapter hails from a volcanic planet so there would be a lot of ash and other detrius coating thier armour.
tiny sam
battle damages! all he need is battle damages and maybe a baddab black wash on the red (or even an asurament blue) to make it ritcher
Pig Of Sparta
He looks pretty good, I like the muted shade of red that you've used. I agree with aekold though, the metal or to be more specific the gold soes look a little flat. As you've said you've already given these areas a wash of Devlan Mud, perhaps you could try adding another couple of washes, but only to the recesses of the gold areas, this should help to define details a little more without dulling down the gold colour you have. keep up the good work :( James
ShinyRhino
My golds tend to come out flat like that, too. It's because I use a matte spray sealer on them.
Midge913
Try adding a few highlights to the gold... I usually do a shining gold highlight then a very hard shining gold/chain mail (1:1 mix) for the very edges.
Masterofthefleet667
Thanks for all the comments, I have a whole chapter to paint so hopefully I'll have perfected my gold techniques by the end.
