making it scan

Recommended Posts

Making the IA scan all the way through is not easy when your running low on ideas and steam, i've tried running thoughts through my head ( a very dangerous thing thinking ) but i can't seem to come up with anything despite how many times i read any of codex's or WD histories on chapters or any of the Legions that come to mind, it would seem iam stuck.

do i admit defeat or carry on despite lack of ideas

I whine cause i've nothing better to do and i have just plain run out of ideas for both of the IA's Knights Indignant and the Crpyt Keepers, i'm probably trying too hard anyway i guess im trying to make Knights Indignant the way i feel which is Bitterness and anger at what I see as gross Indignation and equally the same with the Crypt Keepers but without the indignation part but i can't word it right

"Knights Indignant"....has potential, could be particularly interesting if they live up to that name. Crypt Keper just makes me think of..well..the Crypt Keeper.

As for the color scheme, I'm not a fan of the standard (read:ultramarine) company color scheme as it frankly looks hideous depending on the rest of the colors. Red and black have been done to death, because they are the simplest and easiest color combination known to man. Paradoxically, they (red particularly) are some of the hardest colors to paint.

When it comes to knights, I tend to think of bright, vibrant colors or drab, humble colors (paradoxical, i know, but hear me out). Bretonnian Knight paintjobs on the GW website are a good example of the bright and shiny heraldry: bright blues, yellows, greens and reds in often clashing and geometric designs. The drab and dark comes from Kingdom of Heaven, in which the primary colors were a very deep purple and a "dirty" cream colored white in quartered patterns. The former would be tricky to do in the sense that heraldry unique to each marine while still maintaining a sense of uniformity is something very hard to pull off. The latter would be simpler, barring the fact that purple paints have been reduced to all of 2 colors available from GW, and they aren't particularly friendly to basic highlighting techniques.

At any rate, calm down, take a deep breath, relax, and let your mind wander. Trying too hard will show in spades every step of the way :)
