well, its been too long this thread has been dead so im reviving it!!!!

 

i've been ridiculously busy with exams and with my broken wrist and all but that didn't deter me from painting!!! the only reason i haven't posted recently is due to the fact its nigh impossible to use a computer with a broken wrist.

 

so here are all the works done in the last 5 months

 

first up, the now almost completed 2nd Tactical Squad. the only things left to paint up are the faces of the sergeant and the 2nd in command and to decide what goes upon the banner. i have acquired a devastator set and now my squad is now fully armed with a melta and a multi-melta. after i plated a few games with the previous list, i've made changes to the entire strike force and my sergeant no longer sports a power weapon as my playing style negates the use of melee weapons as i prefer guns over blades. this squad is now adapted to be the forward advancing squad hence the meltas.

and this is the also nearly completed 3rd Tactical Squad. once again, the faces and banners are yet to be painted as well as to find a "hood ornament" for one of the marines. i've seem to have used all of mine. this squad is the support squad and brings plasma firepower to bear for the task of carrying out violent arguments with the enemy's heavy infantry and tanks.

im rather proud of the skull colour i've achieved. it was great fun to experiment to create the perfect shade of bleach bone for the dark, macabre look

this is the HQ. after playing a few games, i have decided to rip of his storm shield and power weapon and to replace them with a lightning claw and hellfire boltgun. he has also been downgraded to a Captain instead of a Chapter Master as i saw better use of the points instead of having an orbital bombardment for 25 pts. he now advances with the 2nd Squad to give them support with his bolter (which has made him infinitely less useless as he now shoots) and to give them an edge in close combat with his lightning claw if an enemy so much as dares to assault them. the servo skull (as i believe it is called, please correct me if i made an error) is there to represent the fact he has an Iron Halo which gives him an invulnerable save. and the fact it looked good :)

Part 2 of the update

 

the dreadnoughts are now fully completed. on the left is Brother Marbas encased in his Ironclad Dreadnought body. on the right is Brother Gadreel within his Dreadnought body. not much have been done to these two except for some highlights which might be a tad difficult to see.

and now, for the recently procured units. i've bought the remainder of the units required to make up my 2000 pt army which included a drop pod, a Land Raider, a Terminator Squad, 2 Land Speeders and a Thunderfire cannon. the pictures of the rest will be posted soon. excluding the TFC which i hate to the ends of Earth. the damn metal figurine of the cannon itself does not fit together is any semblance of being fused and i've toild countless hours filing and filling cracks and holes with the green stuff to the point of frustration. i really hope Games Workshop releases a Fine Cast TFC so that i can chuck the metal one at people who displease me. its be called by my friends as the TFC, The F*****d-up Cannon. pardon the language but the both of us with our combined might still couldn't put it together

 

Deathwing Terminators WIP. the highlighting took forever to do but it results make it all worth the effort. i chose to do the Deathwing over the conventional Guardians Of the Covenant scheme because it matches up with the fluff and i like the colour scheme.

and here is the same Terminator fully painted up and equipped with his Assault Cannon which would soon be magnetized as i will switch between the Assault Cannon and the Cyclone Missle Launcher from time to time and depending on the game. the colour scheme of the shoulder pad kinda reminds me of a candy cane which makes me chuckle when i see it.

Heres another update. Today, i air-brushed more of the vehicles in my mech-ed out army. The twin Rhinos are in their proper colour schemes and so are the twin Land Speeders. I have yet to decide which areas of the Drop Pod to air brush red. Maybe the forum could help me make my decision?

 

Also, i am stuck at names. For the Dreadnoughts i used names of fallen angels as the Dreadnoughts were once Battle Brothers of the Guardians of the Covenant before their entombment. But what about the vehicles? i have name plates on every tank but have yet to thought of suitable names. Could the forum also give advice for names?

Land Speeders. They have exactly the same weapons and work in a pair in my army to destroy tanks as a fast melta unit.

Rhinos. Once again, exactly the same loadout and their purpose is to transport my Tactical Squads. One will transport 2nd Squad to advance while the other will transport 3rd Squad to a firing position behind 2nd Squad to utilize their awesome plasma firepower.

Drop Pod. This Drop Pod holds within my Ironclad Dreadnought and will be dropped behind enemy lines along with my mop-up squad of Assault Space Marines. The Drop Pod has been converted in an attempt to fit a Dreadnought inside but it failed. Still, the Drop Pod looks cooler when it opens as such.

there won't be update for some time as i will be abroad for about 2 weeks, thus separating me from my precious Marines :)
