Sang. Priest in Terminator Armour

I've been brainstorming recently to try and develop different lists than the Razorback themed ones that seem so common and chanced upon the idea of a Sang. Priest in Termie armour deepstriking in with a mixed squad of assault terminators. With this list I would have at least two RAS groups moving forward to support, as well as having devastators to pop/harass any troublesome vehicles. Besides this I was also thinking about including Attack Bikes and some Vanguard. Does this seem a viable tactic? And if so does anyone have any good advice for creating such a model?

I have been working on finding a way to include Terminators in a BA list...and so far, I have nothing. I do, however, have plans to convert at least one AoBR termie into a Sanguinary Priest. The AoBR Sergeant might be the easiest since he already has the sword.

I'd be a little worried about blast weapons; things like plasma cannons and vindicators ignore FNP just like they make a mess of Termie Armour. Maybe to counteract this you might want to utilise a teleport homer/locator beacon to be able to deep strike close enough to the enemy to make them second guess their attempt to template you to death, but neither of these are available to the other support units you have mentioned.

Then there's the land raider, of course, but now I'm writing a whole new list and ignoring you're initial question...

The FNP is definately going to help against small arms, and you could take all Storm Shields to help against the big guns, but your priest is actually the weak link there.

So I guess I'm saying it could work, but I can also see where the pitfalls might be.

A Termie Priest can be made pretty nicely using a Termie Chaplain as a base, with a power sword arm, and an arm holding the Grail from the Space Hulk objectives sprue. I can't take credit for the idea, though, because I nicked it from someone here several months ago.

First things first, since this is my first post I'd like to say hello to everyone :-)

This is how I made mine:

Chaplain in Terminator Armour

Corbulos right hand (Grail)

Terminator Power Sword

The arms are just stuck on with sticky tac for now, makes it easier to paint the parts separately.

here is a picture, i hope....never tried this before.

I have been trying to include terminators into my Ba lists recently and ive had good turnout with them. in one list I had two squads of termies one assualt with a chaplain and sang priest w/ terminator armour in a LRC, and another regular squad with a cyclone missile launcher and sang priest w/ terminator armour. I also had a scout squad with a beacon and a drop pod with a beacon. i deffinatly had alot of options.. Yes terminators can be vulnerable to vindicators and such, but if you field them well and utilize cover efficiently along with terminator priests they can be a pretty tough nut for your opponent to crack while being able to dish out alot of friggin pain

You mean a reclusiarch, right?

I've a silly 10 asstermie3/7 + TDA priest x3 + TDA reclusiarch list. It's fun and it's yet to be eliminated. My flatmat has given up trying to kill it with his 'balanced' chaos list. What really gets his goat is the IC priests peeling off to chase stuff off the table.

Isn't it pointless to take a PW over an LC when using terminator armour? They are the same points, neither give you an extra attact for 2 x CCW when using terminator armour, but LC lets you re-roll to wound.

I don't have my codex with me so I can't remember if this is even an option, but if it is, power weapon = fail.

This is my Priest in TDA - Actually inspired by this thread!

Don't have my codex on me atm but i think you're right. Don't think you get the option to change to a LC after you buy TDA either. Which really sucks. Probably a reason why they did it.

I'll post a picture of my TDA priest when i get home from my mates house later.

I cut this shoulder emblem out of a couple spare DC shoulder pads. It looks quite effective i think.

You can do better. Scrape it off and start again... and when you start with this stuff, less is more.

I used a smooth round tool handle like a rolling pin to smooth out fingerprints and a densely bristled soft nylon toothbrush will give it the same surface texture as the plastic of the model (it wears the outer layers of the greenstuff away). With some furious wrist action, you can get the seams err... seamless.

Givem a combi-melta. The Assault Terminators will thank you for it.
