Avishan
Hello all, long time lurker. The Fang seems to be a much friendlier place to be, and to ask questions. On to my question. I play Blood Angels, a sin I know. However they fit my playstyle much better than wolves, fast and assault-oriented. However, my personality is very barbaric and Space Wolf oriented. So I was wondering if there could be any way to make my models have a more barbaric look? I understand that this could not be done with the more archiac looking models within the BA, such as the sanguinary guard, but what about Sternguard, Vanguard, or Death company? I play a DIY chapter, still in the works, and oddly enough, the fluff has already been turning to represent the more barbaric side of the BA. At this point I'm open to all suggestions. Thank you for reading. -Avishan Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213202-modelling/ Share on other sites

Grey Mage
A thought.... are you attached to the BA fluff, or is this just as you say a play-style you really enjoy? Because if its just the playstyle you might try painting up a flesh tearers company- they come from a deathworld where large dinosaurs rule most of the landmass, and are incredibly feral before indoctrination. Id be suprised if they didnt carry some of the old tribal ways and totems with them- tattoos, a fetish or two, they certainly have the "I will rip your face off and make you eat it worm!" attitude of a truely savage warrior. Id check them out. If you likem, get yourself some small scale dinosaur skeletons and choppem up for basing or little bitz. You could do faces with half of them tattood in some kind of tribal pattern, and unit markings in a similar fashion. Oh yeah, and even if you arent a SW- welcome to the Fang, heres an Ale- dont drink it all at once. *puts a small barrel on the table*. Something I'm used to, I have an incredibly large Dwarf army. While I do like some of the BA fluff, like the "We are angels of death" type of thing they have going on. On the other hand, the vampirism really bothers especially with the preteen girls' view of vampire recently. So it's more about the jump pack play style I really enjoy. I've thought of Flesh Tearers honestly, I just would prefer to have a chapter I made from scratch. I feel like it would be more "my" army you understand? While the tattoos are a great idea, something I will be implementing for sure, I'm wondering if I could get away using the warhammer fantasy arms and weapons? Are they the same scale for the maruaders? Chaos Knights? (I've never actually played Fantasy, just collected the dwarves). In addition, are there any Wolf sprues or boxes you would recommend getting for the tribal bits, or are the bits primarily too Wolfy? Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate it. -Avishan Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213202-modelling/#findComment-2536768 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Dwarven Axes are not an uncommon sight in SW armies, and the Maurader heads were a definite go-to kit before the recent SW Pack box was released. Yes, fantasy is all about the same scale, and alot of the bits port over to 40k without issue. As for the SW box in general- they can also work for lions *its a quick and easy conversion on most parts* and foxes or coyotes. Avishan
Good to know that Dwarven axes meld well. I must have a million of those laying around. Hopefully I can get a nice, barbaric looking army off the ground soon. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it! -Avishan Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213202-modelling/#findComment-2536782 Share on other sites
