Khârn's personal heraldry

Consider this:

These shoulder pads show the basic Company heraldries. These had their origin in the days when Space

Marines were organised into Legions, formations many times larger than the current Chapter. It may have

been that these patterns were originally used to differentiate between the sub-units of those vast regiments.

These heraldries now form the basic liveries for the Company Captains and are displayed on the Captain's right

shoulder pad and back banner. Veteran Captains are unlikely to display such markings as their personal honours and merit awards will supplant the basic design."

Actually, we can see this pattern in post-Heresy chapters Company Banners, like the Blood Angels 3rd Company -just the pattern, not the colors- so we can easily extrapolate those patterns to the Company Banners, just changing the basic colors and adapting them to the Legion's colors, ie World Eaters Company Banners would be White and Blue.

Taking that and the Chapter Company Colors we can make some nice banners. Those are for the VIII Assault Company:

This are just roughly samples, not the final artwork. From here we can easily imagine the personal banners of the Lieutenants and Sargeants of the squad with bits of his personal heraldry, aswell the Company Banner with the Captain's personal heraldry.

So, I need some help and inspiration ideas. What would be the Khârn's personal heraldic symbols?

I'v been considering some of this:

Arrows (Military readiness, affliction):

Spear (readiness for battle):

Lion (Fierce Courage):

Leopard (Valiant and enduring warrior):

Boar (Fierce fighter, fights to the death):

Advices, help, ideas, C&C very much appreciated!

I'd shy away from animal designs. In the first place they're notoriously hard to paint, and in the second place the World Eaters never really used any animal influences in their design. I'd stick with militant symbols like Arrows and Swords. Try to subtly incorporate the Khornate emblem, without making it obvious. Khârn likely wasn't among the first to fall, more likely he followed Angron's lead after Horus deceived him. That being said, it's great that you're taking such an intricate route to represent them. Kudos.

As he's best known as the Betrayer I'd say have the ax embedded or maybe splitting the World Eater's emblem in two. Also while the color hereldry is very interesting I'd keep in mind adding a dark red or maybe black edge around the banner to keep it looking a little cleaner.

Hope this helps =)

Thank you all for the comments. very good ideas here! Tanking in account most of your thoughts (red edge, axes, khornate emblem) I've got this:

What do you think?

I you have issues with the img just say and I change the format to *.gif

EDIT 2:

Spear head: readiness for battle

Axe: Military duty

That's actually pretty sweet. There's nothing I don't like about it from the realm of fluff or aesthetic. The only thing bugging me about it is the latin (erm...High Gothic) inscription. I've seen that used a lot, and I don't know if it'd be proper to give him something that generic. But, as always, it's your decision as far as what happens, so if that really clicks to you, go right ahead.
