Dante's Hit and run

Hey all,

I finally got an opportunity to play test my 1500 point list and in the course of a game came across a rules snag with my opponent. A huge component of my list is a fully tooled out Sang Guard unit with a Priest, Chappy, and Dante all attached to the unit (on a side note this config performed admirably). However he and I ran into a disagreement when it comes to the Hit and Run rule that Dante confers to any squad that he joins. The details of the argument being that Dante was technically joining the Sang Guard that he didn't actually confer the Hit and Run rule to the to other independent characters also attached to the unit. So my question is, with configuration I have described above, does Dante confer Hit and Run to the Priest and the Chappy as well as the Sang Guard unit.

Cheers,

Midge

I run Dante with a priest in a assault squad, and I've never seen anyone have a problem with it.

Everyone in the squad gets Hit and run including characters joined to the unit. You can't use hit and run to break squad coherancy and a character can only leave a squad in the movement phase, since hit and run happens in the assault phase if the squad the character is attached to uses hit and run the character MUST go with the squad he can't be left behind even if you wanted to.

Aye, H n' R from Dante is of course unit-wide, including all attached ICs (still with the unit in said assault)... as they're part of the greater unit.

I'd have been a bit miffed to see someone so much as considering the merest possibility of arguing otherwise.

@ shatter- it was in no way malicious on my opponents part. He had just gotten himself in a corner several games prior when he had a IC attached to a squad and forgot that the squad didn't confer their rule to the IC. He was hung up on the rule in the BRB about IC's and special rules and how they confer or don't confer back and forth. It didn't become a huge deal in game terms but as it happens sometimes you get a good rule argument going I got twisted around and confused myself.
