marine77
I just played a game against a Nid player who took a very unorthodox list. It included 9 carnifexes. The full write up can be found on my blog here: Gone to Ground. I would love to hear any comments. Feel free to leave them here or on the blog. Thanks. Azatoth
Don't Carnifexes and all MC pass the IBehaviour test automatically? marine77
I am not sure. I am not very familiar with Tyranids. He did automatically pass them when he was within range of a synapse creature though. Otherwise, he was taking a LD test or becoming subject to rage. BassWave
If I recall correctly, rippers can not hold objectives. So your opponent could only either force a draw by contesting or completely annihilate you. Well done on handling the carnifexes though ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213314-walkers-vs-monstrous-creatures-a-2000pt-battle/#findComment-2538345 Share on other sites
marine77
Yeah, even if they could hold objectives, 6 T3 2W models were not going to be able to stand up to the kind of pain I was going to bring. Especially since I was able to focus flamer templates on them and they are vulnerable to templates. This ultimately helped clear them out in a fair easy manner. The army looked scary on paper, but if you can delay the carnifexes, then it is a simple game of last turn objective claiming. However, it was pretty fun to watch the interchange of focused fire power ripping apart monstrous creatures and then for them to come in and annihilate whatever they touched. Had this been a KP game, I am fairly positive he would have won. Striker4
As a "former" Nids player, Rippers cannot hold objectives cuz they're Swarms, and only MC's who are also synapse creatures don't have to take the IBehavior test. Even the fearless ones have to. So i'm sure that was a botched game, though I admit I only skimmed it. He couldn't have captured any objectives so as long as those carnis went down he couldn't do anything.
