DiY TL Autocannon arms for Dreadnoughts

I know many people have recommended finding a bunch of Aegis defense lines and using the autocannons they have, but I find that they are hard to come by for less than retail. To this end, I have tried to come up with an easy conversion for creating TL autocannons for my dreads. I have created a fairly passable arm using IG heavy weapons team autocannons. I have put together a little tutorial on my blog found here: Gone to Ground

Check it out and leave some feedback. I would love to hear what people think. Thanks!

This is very similar to what I did for my own TLAC arm on my dreadnoughts but much simpler since you are keeping the external ammo drums. I think it's a very effective and cheap method of pulling off the TLAC arm, but it could benefit from a bit more bracing between the barrels to help keep them aligned properly and help bulk out the arm slightly.

For those even more particular, shaving off the winged skull on the off arm would help it not look upside down.

Very cool idea. I wonder if anyone would build a dread with a head on top, TLAC like those, and HK missiles in the left and right torso. Bam a Mad Dog.

Also, do you actually run the dread with MM and TLAC? Is the idea to be a catch-all anti-tank platform?

I'll throw mine in.

@Rom- Yours look fine. They're SCRATCH built. That is way harder than converting, and and way, way harder than ordering! :tu:

Nice work.

The tut on gone to ground is just what I have been looking for, as I just got the bits off ebay.

Thanks for sharing the photos, brothers! Now I have lots of ideas! ( cue sinister laugh)
