Erasmus of Baal
Is it legal to have a model from one squad in the 2" of squad coherency between models of another squad? Thus, is it possible to have marines from squads A and B aligned as (A) (B) (A) (B) (A) (B) (A) (B) (A) (B) ? (Sorry if this is confusing, I can't think of a better way to phrase this.) SeattleDV8
You only have to stay 1" away from enemy models, barring assault, tank shock and other special cases. IC's have to stay away from friendly models or they join the unit. Yes you may move within 1" of friendly units, and may interweave them as long as each unit is still in coherency. The only restriction is that models may not move into or through the space occupied by another model, so as long as the models from the other squad can freely be moved into that position they can be placed that way. See BRB page 11. (You are only forbidden to move within 1" of enemy models.) BearersOfSalvation
The only restriction is that you can't move models through other models, so if you're not careful and pack tightly you might end up with some models stuck in place, especially if you do this at deployment. Also, if you're making difficult terrain or run moves, you have to pick one unit, roll, and resolve it's move, you can't make rolls for both units then coordinate the distance. Since this can be used to give cheesy cover saves where each squad is counting for cover for the other, expect people to rigidly enforce the order of operations for difficult terrain and running.
