Captain Malachi
Would it be weird if I snuck in to your house at night and stole those models? *innocent face* Seriously though, we have got to meet up sometime soon, even if it's just so I can see those beauties in person. GooseDaMoose
thanks, i'm glad you like the visor idea as someone i know said it looks silly as it can only look in one direction. How is that any different from a normal dreadnought with a visor? i don't know but i won't be asking their opinion again... they were most rude and not very helpful They're just jealous ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213593-78th-mechanicus-exploritory-fleet/page/4/#findComment-2582022 Share on other sites

sword brethren
i am finally back home! so the first thing i did was unpack my warhammer goodness and crack into a new conversion. i thought up some quick and undetailed fluff to expand on at a later date. In the Vandarus system, a distress call was heard from Vandarus IV. imperial guard from the 123rd Cadian were struggling to hold back the forces of 22nd Cadian and 13th Tallern regiments who had turned from the emperor of man. a false voice of authority had been called to power by a cultist organisation in the system and a mass uprising had occurred. of the 4 planets in the system that were populated 3 had turned to total anarchy and worshiped the powers of the warp, the last planet to hold was beseiged constantly by chaos forces and with the aid of the mindless populace the forces of darkness were soon to suceed were it not for the intervention of the Adpetus Astartes. 5 chapters had strung together a crusade force of 200 space marines to quickly purge this system and bring the leaders to justice, the largest contingent was of the Sons of Orar with 60 Marines. this was followed by the Iron Templars with 50 and the Flesh Tearers with 50. The Raven Guard and Dark Angels had sent smaller forces, the raven guard sent a small 25 man specialist force to help weaken areas of strength and the Dark Angels sent 15 men from the Ravenwing to investigate and destroy the leader of the cult organisation. The campaign was relitively short for the size of the task at hand. Captain Marion of the Sons of Orar had taken command and used the chapters to their strengths to quell the rebellion. The Flesh Tearers were shunned by the other chapters and only worked alongside the forces of the Iron Templars. The Sons of Orars looked down upon the Flesh Tearers for the butchery that was witnessed, The Iron Templars on the other hand welcomed the ferocity as they beleived traitors of this magnitude should be maimed in the style the Flesh Tearers relished. The raven guard worked mainly as a singular entity picking off strategic areas and moving on without thought and the Dark Angels communicated very little with the other chapters and worked without the command of Captain Marion's authority. As the campaign came to a close The Sons of Orar left the unclean "mopping up" battles to the other barbaric chapters as The Son's distaste with the style of destruction became clear. command was handed over to Battle Captain Theodus of the Iron Templars, he quickly instated a sharing of leadership between himself and Captain Siarus of the Flesh Tearers and Shadow Captain Tyance of the Raven Guard to ease battlefield proceedings, the Dark Angels wished no part in their plans and had at this stage "Redeemed" the cult leader and left the system in the few days following. At the end of the Campaign several Imperial Guard regiments were called, including the revenge seeking 123rd Cadian, to instil justice and rebuild a state of imperial law. As a parting gift the 2 captains of the Flesh Tearers and Iron templars exchanged gifts or warfare to show a bond that was built on the fields and cities of the Vandarus sector. Battle Captain Theodus presented the flesh tearers with his mighty power guantlet "the thunder of dorn" and his own exquisitly crafted combi Melta. in return Captain Siarus gave him his axe "Jaws of Demise" and his Hand Flamer "Blaze of Vengeance". to this day the captains use each other equipment on the battlefield awaiting another oppertunity to fight back to back once again. a little long winded but i just wanted and excuse to use a hand flamer for my counts-as Vulkan. he is blutacked together and im planning on alot more detail, i just wanted to show an idea i was working on for feedback. ill have PIP picks of my dreadnaught and WIP picks of Lysander in the next few days. SB Dude, that Lysander conversion is f'ing insane! That said he needs a much bigger axe as that one looks to puny companred to the rest of him. Plus I love the use of the T-visor Berzerker helmet on the veteran sergeant, looks so cool. GooseDaMoose
Now he all propa street bruv (i felt my IQ diminish typing that) The fact that you still know what IQ means that we haven't lost you entirely yet ;) Unrelated: IQ is quite an invalid way of measuring intelligence. For one, it's almost entirely based on Western-ly biased questions and very much on technical thinking. So you're plenty smart without IQ tests. Aaanyway, getting over my little "must-argue-dwarf" that lives in my head, your veteran/sergeants looks awesome, but mold lines man! (on the powerfist) :D and they could maybe do with a bit of a light mithril silver drybrush to highlight and/or weather the armour a bit. Lysander looks great! Though I agree with thickening his thighs. The shield looks really cool, I always have a problem filling open areas like that but it looks good  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213593-78th-mechanicus-exploritory-fleet/page/4/#findComment-2595900 Share on other sites
