What comes in the iron hands tactical box? (do i get all the special weapons or just a flamer?)

 

Where can i get bits to use for bionics on my iron hands?

 

in index astartes 3 theres an iron father model-is it a conversion or can i buy the model?

The Iron Hands squad box, to the best of my knowledge, only comes with a flamer and missile launcher. It should be the same as a normal tactical squad box + metal bits as extras.

The Iron Father model you are referring to is OOP, I'm afraid. Try ebay.

I beleive it comes with a flamer, an assortment of bolters(one of which is attatched to the marines elbow via some type of bionic implant), 1 hammer, and a bolt pistol, both for the sergent.

The Iron Hands box plastic component is a normal tactical box, so flamer, plasma gun, 2 plas pistols, couple chainswords and a ML ect.

The metal bionics bitz include two sets of legs, two torsos with iron hands/mechanicus detailing, one PA thunderhammer with iron hands/mechanicus iconography, two sets of bionic bolter arms(one is excellent the other looks goofy IMO), three bionicfied helmets and two bionicked bare heads, as well as 10 assorted metal Iron Hands shoulderpads.

 

This information could have been gleaned from page one of the sprue picture collection thread, which is a sticky in this subforum.

That Iron Father model, as mentioned, is out-of-production. It shows up a lot on eBay, but for 30-70 USD per, unless you can find one that is mislabeled or you're simply lucky.

I think that nowadays I'd rather buy the Iron Hands box than a Tac Squad, it's only a bit cheaper and you can ebay the bionics for a fortune. Certainly would work out cheaper than a normal Tac squad.

It depends on when it was produced.

 

I have bought several box sets (I think 7 IIRC) over the years and have found a lot of inconsistencies between them. If they are old enough, they will come with the older Tactical Squad (first released around 1998) instead of the newer one.

I bought an Iron Hands box from the online GW direct store last month and I would have sworn it came with a complete sprue set from the current tac squad box, plus the metal parts I mentioned.

 

But then again, I also have loads of plasma guns lying about, so it wouldn't have stuck so well in memory. ;)

As bannus said, it really depends on when the stock was boxed up. If it was boxed up years ago, it's got a chance of having only missle/flamer. But, if you're ordering direct from GW, chances are good that it'll be a blister with the IH metal bitz, and a box of the new tactical squad.
