"Midnight Ravens"... File Found, Comm Recording 85637.PR7.3 Commander Myrie knelt, reciting the Litany of Cleansing, his head bent towards the ground eyes closed. For over 6 hours he had remained like this, in communion with the Emperor reciting his devotions, achievements and humiliations. He rose with a start, his brow sweating and pupils dilated. Striding to the rear of the Thunderhawk he saw his personal command squad also raising themselves from prayer, their weapons readied they advanced towards the rear hatch of the drop ship. With a hiss, the hatch opened letting the early morning air sweep around the crew compartment. Each warrior stood resolute, ready to deal the Emperors justice to the unholy xenos foes that must surely be awaiting them. Commander Myrie stepped forward falling from the ship toward the ground at high speed, his jump pack flaring into action a shooting star in the dawn sky. The engines of attack bikes of the Midnight Ravens chapter, roared as they sped down the ruined street, unleashing a hail of heavy bolter fire that impacted off the wraithbone armour of the huge walker that strode towards them. A xenos skimmer sped from the bikes right hand side, dust hurled up from the ground by the swiftness of the vehicle. A bright beam of light narrowly missing Brother Gunner Leimos as it pierced the outer wall of the hab block the bike had previously passed, splitting the wall as a huge hole was torn from the structure. The shrill cry of the drop pods filled Brother Leader Tidua's ears, screaming past him to the ground below, as he plummeted toward the hive activated his grav chute at the last minute. He landed on one knee rasing from a crouch looking with menace at the Xenos Scum before him, curling his lip he slammed a clip into his bolt pistol, as drop pods and grav chutes announced his fellow brothers. The skimmer tansport vehicle came to an abrupt halt, two beams of pure light with a bead on the Holy Landspeeder, swerving at the last minute the beams crossed with that of another beam from the towering walker towards the threatened Speeder. Brother Pilot Kruita was well versed in control of the Land Speeder though, with expertise borne from over a five hundred such conflicts he jammed the controls to the side evading both of the heretical beams. The Wave Serpent discharged it's cargo of blasphemous creatures, the undead constructs moved from the skimmer with robotic precision, guided by a pysker robed in yellow. They unleashed a torrent of warp energy from the cannons they carried, tearing Brothers R'dyte and Sluite of Myrie's command squad apart as they ripped apart a void in the material realm. Before charging into the squad rending Veteran Sergeant Lydecker and two other brother marines apart with their brutal strength. Rangers draped in camoflague fired upon the attack bikes, their lang rifles however could find no weakness in the ceramite armour of the speeding marines. Swooping Hawks decended upon the deploying Tactical Squad Verius, the Eldar Exarch leaping from marine to marine lashing out at his foes, felling the squad. The assault squad descended upon the Xenos rangers, firing their pistols as they released the grav chutes slowing their descent, one of the Eldar scum screamed out as a shell pierced his abdomen, exploding split seconds after, showering his comrades with dark blood. Brother Pilot Kruita gunned the skimmer's engines as his co-gunner fired the Multimelta mounted before him, the devastating heat scorched the wraithbone hull of the Prism skimmer, shattering the crystalline weapon monted upon the heretical vehicle. Tidua and Myrie screamed with rage as they hurled themselves at the undead constructs that had emerged from the Transport skimmer. Lashing out with his Lightning Claws Myrie tore the Spirit Stone from the armour of one of the necromantic warriors. Watching in horror one of the remaining constructs turned, swinging it's fist almost in slow motion towards Tidua, with unholy speed Myrie activated his jump pack screaming towards the melee. Smashing into the undead warrior, he hurled himself to the side as Tidua swung his powerfist, crushing no less than three of the Wraiths. Turning towards the remaing Wraith and the rogue psyker Myrie smiled, Brother Dreadnought Damos' drop pod struck the ground. Damos advanced splintering wraithbone armour as he stride to the Xenos. Tactical squad Tide, Ingen and Frena unleashed the firepower of their heavy weapons upon a second towering Wraithlord. The Emperor was not with them though, the Missiles and Lascannon blast impacted harmlessly off of the, Administratum walls splitering beams and gouging huge holes from the walls around the towering beast. Brother Leimos heard the cry of pain from his battle brothers through his comm equipment, commanding his attack bike squadron to spin around they raced to their brothers' aid. His gentically enhanced vision focused upon the building they had mere moments passed by, a streak of blue surrounded his brothers, lashing out at them as they fell. When the last battle brother had fallen, slain the Exarch paused wiping the most holy blood from the crystalline skulls he had used as a bolas. Their gaze met, the Exarch and his squad leapt their foul wings lifting them from the scene of the skirmish. Leimos' eyes burned, his jaw clenched he tracked the murderous Xenos as they flew. With a scream which echoed within each of his brothers' souls he fired the heavy bolter. Round after round impacted against the alien armour, his weapon spat hatred and vengeance in equal proportions puching through their mesh armour, each fell from the sky, their wings tattered bodies cleansed by the Emperor's justice. Only the Exarch remained, drawing a holstered bolt pistol Leimos took aim, the motion tracker predicting the winged daemons every move. He fired. The creatures thigh exploded, showering the sky in crimson. He fired. The Exarch's right arm was torn from it's socket, as scream of pain was raised from the creatures throat. He fired again. The crystal sphere carried upon the it's breast exploded, forever damning the creature to an eternity of hell within the Immaterium. The ragged corpse fell from the sky, landing beside the most holy battle brothers of Tactical Squad Verius. Even in death did the Xenos defile the will of the Emperor.
