+++CHAPTER NAME: Grey Death Legion

+++CHAPTER FOUNDING: 17th

+++CHAPTER MASTER: Lord Commander Cordorba

+++CHAPTER GENESEED: Raven Guard

+++CHAPTER HISTORY: Created at the beginning of the 17th Founding, the Grey Death Legion structure was modified by Chapter Master Sorrento after the successful cult purging on Dracab.

Through the millenia of service to the Emperor the Grey Death Legion has served in several campaigns, some famous, while others infamous, against several alien races. Mostly, the Orks and forces from the Eye of Terror have filled the Mortis Codex. For example:

In 562.M38, the Chapter was assigned to an invading force against the planet Altias to secure key spaceports at Wallix and Gorthia hives. Lord Commander Ranon led the combat drop into Wallix Hive where his forces found the spaceport undefended. But the axe fell on Gorthia Hive where Commander Talvar met a massive counterattack from the Emperor's Children Chaos Marine Chapter. Creating a defensive perimeter, Talvar's Cohort resisted five brutal assaults. The Chaos forces delayed a final push to receive reinforcements. Talvar decided to attack the weakest point in the Chaos lines in an attempt to break the siege and the opposing forces met in fierce close-combat fighting. The running battle lead toward Ryea Hive where Ranon arrived with the remaining Grey Death Legion Cohorts. The fresh Imperial marines drove the Emperor's Children from the hive and its spaceport. Altias was liberated from Chaos within weeks due to the strike and disable missions devised by Ranon.

The Chapter would see it's greatest challenges most recently at Ichar IV, Armageddon and Cadia. Each massive event taking place within five years of each other and the Grey Death Legion has responded as it could, yet each campaign stretching it's resources further.

+++CHAPTER HERALDRY: Dark gray armor. Light gray trim on the shoulder pads (added after a near-disastrous campaign on Helm when the Chapter was betrayed by the planetary governor who secretly sided with Chaos). Light grey painted right arm signifies heroic action during time spent in the Scout Manus. Crimson Sunburst awarded to victors at Focalor's Repulsion. Omega Seal awarded after Ichar IV campaign.

Mercenary unit strike force delta.

Name: Shadow Legion

Chapter Master: Darkchild

Homeworld: None, the fleet based chapter conducts brutal recruit selection on all tribal/warrior based worlds it comes across when it is not involved in war fighting.

Founding: Unauthorised founding.

Geneseed: Dark Angels

Chapter symbol: Winged sword (similar to dark angels)

Heraldry: Dark grey armour, company markings on right knee, chapter symbol on left shoulder.

Standard: None, taking a standard into battle has no tactical advantages whatsoever.

Doctrine/Beliefs: Covert operations. Thourough recon of the area is carried out before any substantial force is commited to battle by specialist scout teams. These are veteran marines, not inexperienced youths, the legion feels that reconnaisance is the field of experts, not beginners. As a result the newly matured marines are put into battle companies straight away under the guidance of more experienced rothers. When Combat is initiated it is of a rapid assault of a mechanised nature, with devestator, assault squad and land speeder support. Unusually, the chapter possesses no dreadnoughts or teminators, as these were lost defending the now dead homeworld from A huge necron force. The chapter received no help from imperial forces despite sending many distress calls, and as a result have become a mercenary force, serving noone but the emperor himself.

In place of terminators, the shadow legion has specially trained commando teams which carry out a similar role wearing modified artificer armour. This elite company, The new 1st, is lead by Captain seth. The chapter has denounced everything except the pursuit for personal excellence and worship of the emperor. Even though they still wear dark angel symbols, they do not worship lion el jonson, rather, they keep the symbol as a reminder of what once was.

Free from the gaze of the adeptus terra, the shadow legion has made a number of advances in technology, namely mass produced artificer armour for the commandos, more efficient plasma weaponry, and laser designators for the recon teams to guide whirlwind missile fire accurately from afar.

Im combat the legion prefers close range firefights over hand-to-hand fighting, but trains extensively in both. The legions tactics are constantly evolving as the chapter master analyses what works and what doesnt in his constant struggle to better himself and the chapter. All in all the chapter is doomed, as it is only a matter of time before Darkchild and his brothers are declared heretics by those that have no capacity to understand them. Nevertheless, the shadow legion will fight on to crush the enemies of the imperium wherever they are found.

Motto: faith is my armour, hate is my weapon, the emperor protects.

Battlecry: none.

History: I cant be bothered to write it and you probably wouldnt want to read my fluff anyway.

Message

To: High Lords of Terra

From: Inquisitor Lord Duloran

Subject: Adeptus Astartes chapter Angel's talons

Chapter name: Angel's talons

Chapter heraldry: black power armour with dark red shoulder pads and light blue weapons (lightning claws, power and chainfists are abundant in this chapter)

Chapter Symbol: an clawed angel in a dark robe with a halo over his head

Chapter master: Darathaik Tu'kai

Chapter Homeworld: this chapter was founded upon a spaceborne fortress monastery

Chapter Warcry: Angelus vox cruor

Chapter Geneseed: Raven Guard (Corax)

Chapter History: At the time of the fifth founding, it was decreed that another raven guardsuccesor chapter should be formed, known as the Angel's talons.

Noble lords, I must submit some unsettling news that I have recently discovered concerning the Legionnes Astartes. A rogue chapter has been found recently near to the Eye of Terror, harassing the forces of Abaddon the Despoiler and aiding the beleagured warriors upon Cadia's surface.

While you may think this to be good news, if you had the information I had uncovered, you would not. They traverse the galaxy at will, ignoring the orders of any sort of organisation, attacking only certain enemies - Chaos, the Necrons, the Orks, the Tyranids and those piratical Eldar raiders who prey upon Imperial worlds for slaves. Worse still, they refuse to join forces with any part of the Inquisition other than the Ordo Malleus, and then only if members of the Grey Knights chapter are a part of the contingent. They also ignore the strictures of the Codex Astartes, arming every part of their forces with what they choose and structuring these forces in any way they want.

The fact that they will ignore any orders given to them is the most unsettling thing. They attack these enemies because they are seen as a danger to the Emperor (who these warriors see as a man, not a god, who founded the Imperium and martyred himself, but who is not a deity), and if they see us as a danger, then few forces shall come to our aid, because few have never been aided by this chapter. Therefore, I feel we should be cautious in the extreme around these most renegade of the Adeptus Astartes.

CHAPTER NAME: The Ronins (formerly The Rising Suns)

CHAPTER FOUNDING: 2nd

CHAPTER MASTER: None since the loss of Chapter Master Asaemon

CHAPTER GENESEED: Ultramarines

CHAPTER HISTORY: The Ronins came into existence as the Rising Suns Chapter during the Second Founding. Their Primogenitor, an Ultramarines Captain named Sasebo Takeda was given charge by Roboute Guilliman of the Marines from his homeworld of Nippon Secundus. While Takeda was saddened to no longer serve under Guilliman, he took his newly formed chapter and returned to his homeworld. There they built their orbital fortress monastary the Musashi.

When the Tyranid fleet struck Macragge and was turned back a splinter fleet made for Nippon Secundus. At the time the Ronin fleet was on its way to relieve the battered defenders of Macragge with seven of the Rising Suns companies either on board or in the supporting fleet of ships. Then Chapter Master Asaemon and the 1st, 3rd and 9th companies were still on Nippon Secundus. Seeing the threat looming he dispatched an immediate recall to the fleet and took to the skies with the remaining companies in a fleet of Thunderhawks, intent on fighting a series of boarding actions to try and halt the splinter fleet before it could make landfall in the system. While they were ultimatly successful at slowing the fleet greatly, they were slaughtered to a man in the process. The fleet arrived in time to turn back the scattered remnants of the Tyranid fleet, but they were too late to save Asemon.

The remaining Captains gathered on board the Musashi to decide the next course of action. Guided by their attendant Soheis (chaplains) they decreed that the Rising Suns would become the Ronins, as their ancient Terran ancestors had when their lord was killed. They ordered all armor painted black, gave control of the planet to a planetary governor, boarded the vessels of the fleet and set off into the Imperium, never to return to their homeworld again.

The captains decided that no one would take the mantle of Chapter Master again, choosing instead to rule as a council along with the Soheis. They wander the Galaxy, bringing Justice to the enemies of the Emperor, seeking the Honorable Death they were denied when they lost Asaemon.

CHAPTER HERALDRY: Armor is painted black, with standard Codex Astartes markings for Company and Unit Type. Chapter Badge is the Rising Sun, marred with the kanji for Ronin in black.

PLAYING

+++CHAPTER ORIGINS: "The origins of the Shadow Claws lie with there first, and unbelievably present master of sanctity, Hedeon Yerik. Soon after the chapters founding, at which point they where known as the vermillion saints, Hedeon Led the entire chapter to the world of Moskau or more specificaly one of its moons (At this point in time moskau was in it's infancy, It was not the mighty Industrial world it is today and little research had gone into the world or it's 4 orbiting moons). On that moon he discovered an ancient tomb. In which lay the armour and weapons of a long dead warrior, his bones having been reduced to dust many millenia ago. Hedeon took the warriors weapons. A pair of fineley crafted , jet black claws of great power. It is said that these claws offer Hedeon divine protection, those who have seen him in battle find this hard to disbelieve. In honour of these great weapons and there master the chapter where renamed the Shadow Claws and there symbol changed to Hedeons personal insignia."

+++CHAPTER HISTORY: "The Shadow Claws have launched many crusades in the Emperors name. Mainley against xenos threats such as the Orks, Eldar, and more recentley the Tau. In one such campaign against the Eldar it became aparent there was a defect with the chapters geneseed. Battle brothers were gradually losing there vision. Due to this happening mid campaign re-training or re-equiping marines was not an option, the only option was to adapt, those that didn't paid the chapters due. This was a fools plan at best and the chapter pride was to blame for the heavey loses they sustained in this campaign. Though victorious they had lost there 10th and 9th companies but out of this trajedy blossomed new hope for the chapter as those marines who survived found there vision had left them but there other senses where extremley enhanced. They could not see there enemys but they could hear, smell, even taste there foes this has led to an almost "pre-sense". As the chapter went about rebuilding it's self the oportunity to restore all battle brothers vision arose but the chapter in the majority declined only those of the 9th company (who's numbers have never been fully restored with battle brothers but have instead been restocked with enhanced gun servitors), vehicle crews, techmarines, veterans of the 1st company, and scouts of the 10th who exelled at long range combat had there vision restored though this was costly as the marines needed whole sections of there brains removed and replaced as well as there eyes due to the nature of the defect."

+++CHAPTER HOMEWORLD: "While not having a home world as such the Shadow Claws main base of opperations is Moskau's 4th orbiting moon (vladivostok), where the shadow claws where discovered. The main reasons the moon was selected was it's significance to the chapter, it's position, and it's local population of an as yet un-named xenos (ordo xenos designation: speices 928057). The creatures that used to populate Moskau and it's moons were originaly belived to be part of the tyranid race but this theory was soon rejected when there behaviour was studied, while being vicious they were below the inteligence level of even basic tyranid gaunts and will attack tyranid organisms on sight as they do other creatures. The chapter deemed these creatures useful for initiation purposes thus sparing them from extinction. It is also worthy to note that Moskau is possibly one of the most well defended worlds in the imperium. On one moon it has a Space Marine fortress monestery, on two others it has orbital defence stations easily capable of destroying entire fleets, as for the third I have not the authority to know as it has been "closed" as such to all but Inquisitor Thaniel Nostromo and who he allows to accompany him. But the fact the Inqusition take intrest suggests they will defend it though this is just my humble opinion my lord and do not claim to know any thing of you ordo or others that does not concern me."

+++INITIATION: "Initiation into the chapter is a horrifying experience , first initiates are injected with a drug that will rob them of there sight gradually over a time of 24 hours ( allowing them to become acustemed to there lack of vision) they are then placed in a area on vladivostok known as "the eye of the Emperor" this is the only area on all of vladivostok that recieves light from the sun due to its position and harsh atmosphere. It is big enough for a marine with full wargear to stand in. The initiate must stand in this light and not stray from it while being constantley attacked by wave after wave of the local xenos. Until they die or after aproximatley a week, whichever comes first. The eye of the Emperor is also used by Hedeon yerrick to remind intiates not to fear or dread the loss of one of there senses as the Emperor will always be watching over them and guiding them with his divine light."

+++CHAPTER LOCATION: "The majority of the chapter is based/spread about the Eastern fringe (vladivostok), Though at least a third of the chapter is based around the Eye Of Terror having being hurled there in a "freak accident". Though foul play is susspected by Inquisitor Nostromo of the Ordo Heriticus. Of course in such a turbulent area (and shortley after the 13th black crusade), from which it would take them many years to return to there chapter with there warp capabilities lost; it was deemed by the high lords of Terra them selves that this faction of the chapter should remain in close proximity to The Eye to offer as much assistance as they could."

+++CHAPTER STANDARD: "An angel in black robes with a halo with the shadow claws on it's hands on a grey background (Chapter standard has not seen the field of battle for centuries as the majority of battle brothers cannot see it. though some claim they can "feel" its presence)."

+++CHAPTER COLOURS: "All black with extremley ornate gold trim, grey shoulder pads, and blacked out eyes (though most marines where blindfolds upon which there is holy script they shall never see.)"

+++CHAPTER SYMBOL: "A black skull with a halo. Hedeion yeriks personal symbol."

"This is as much information I have been able to gather I am still researching into how the marines of this chapter are such marvelous infiltraitors as at first glance they do not appear all that capable of stealth. I hope this information is sufficent. your humble servant Silas Emanuel Hawke."

Scions of Ultramar

Origins: The Scions of Ultramar were founded when the High Lords of Terra issued the 26th founding. After the chapters creation it was assigned to patrol the boarders between the Imperium and the alien race known as the Tau. When Abaddons Thirteenth Black Crusade started the Scions of Ultramar responded with four companies who traveled with a battle group made up of the Ultramarines and other successor chapters. The battle group arrived after much of the bitter fighting had ended. There skills in patrolling and ship to ship fighting have been utilized to a devastating effect in the Cadian Sector. The rest of the chapter is still currently patrolling the Eastern Fringes.

Home World: The Scions of Ultramar home world of Crete is a remote planet in the Eastern Fringes. Crete is an agri world with only two major continents. The first is named Meklion. Meklion is a mountainous island with a few fertile valleys. The people of Meklion are a hardy people who spend their days farming and hunting. The farming communities are found in the valleys of the many different mountain ranges. Each community is a self sufficient, producing it own food and shelter. Though at times one community will not be able to produce enough food or will not have the materials to provide for the community and this will lead to the community raiding the other communities. It is at these times the Scions of Ultramar do their recruiting. The recruit is then taken to Knosses. Knosses is the only other island on Crete and serves as a training ground for recruits. Knosses is much like the island of Meklion in the fact that it is mountainous with few valleys. At the very end of Knosses the Scions fortress monastery raises up to the heavens.

Geneseed: Being that the Ultramarines geneseed is the most stable is was decided that it would be used to create the Scions of Ultramar.

Tactical Doctrine: The Scions of Ultramar use a codex standard tactical formation with one exception; they tend to employ more tactical squads in their battle companies. This difference comes mainly from there home world where the bow and arrow is used with deadly efficiency. On Crete the mountains allow for deadly ambushes and the bow is perfect in this role. The bow is also considered a tool for hunting and is mastered by every male and female on the planet. This theology is carried over into the Scions tactical doctrine. Another major difference is that the Scions have no scout company. Each compainy is responsible for training their on recruits.

Chapter Name: The Brotherhood of the Lion

Founding Date: M33

Chapter Founder: Duer Cardew

Geneseed: Dark Angels

Homeworld: Tarentum- Night world

Chapter Master: Hrothgar Tyl

Chief Librarian: Vidar Jarl

Head Chaplain: Unazur Dunrowen

Chapter Heraldry: Jet black power armour with bleached bone helmet shoulder pads and vents of the power pack. The shoulder plates have gold banding and seargents right knee pads are also painted bleached bone. The chapter symbol is a black lion rampant on the right shoulder pad. On the left shoulder pad the marines name is displayed and also the chapter makes use of non-codex squad markings. The sergeants of the chapter have the right to display there personal heraldry on a shield gifted to them when the reach thier rank. The chapters few terminator suits are paint mainly black with bone helmets like the rest of the chapter but they wear black monk robes of the inner circle.

The chapter standard is black with a gold border in the middle of the banner is a white lions head and if anyone to look really closley they would notice the name of every catain to ever serve the chapter.

Organisation: The chapter is non-codex and follows a seperate organisation. The chapter is at full strength 5000 marines strong. Each company consists of 500 battle brothers. Also due to the chapters proximitey to mars the chapter enjoys access to alot of armoured support and heavy weaponary. However due to a gene fault marines of the Brotherhood have a very short life span and a drive for self sacrifice so the chapter is very rarely at full strength.

The chapter also takes parts in many sieges so the brothers of the chpater are armed with both close combat weapons and bolters. Sergeants are regarded in high asteem by their brothers and are all armed to the teath with the best armour and weapons available.

Beliefs: The chapter reveres the emperor as the embodyment of humanitys pureness and divinity. It see's chaos as the embodyment of humanitys darkest aspects and seeks to purge it's taint were ever it be found.

The chapters cult links in closely with its primogenetor and wishes to hunt down the fallen and make them repent for thier sins. However depending on the nature of the fallen angel they take a different aproach to the other unforgiven chapters. Iff a fallen angels seeks to return to the emperors light and repents, instead of simply killing the repentant angel the chapter seals them in stasis. When 100 fallen are captured (this is very rare indeed and only on 3 occasions has it occured) then the chapter forms a company of the fallen and sends the on a death oath. Any survivours of these grueling affairs are considered forgiven and are reinstated as full battle brothers.

Battle Cry: "Into the jaws of the lion!" shouted by sergeants and captains

"May his hand guide ours!" shouted by brethren

The planet enjoyed long warm summers due to it's enormous sun.

Over time, tactics changed and the chapter soon changed it's name -- The Astral Angels became the Astral Foxes. The chapter focused on stealth as well as using speed to it's advantage. Tactical squads continued training in infiltration after leaving the 10th company and tanks were traded in for land speeders. The chapter became about fighting smarter, not harder.

The former angels defended the system and it's nieghbors for several hundred years until the Tyranid came. With them, came death. The marines, accustomed to outwitting other intelligent creatures rather than just killing wave after wave of mindless foes, suffered horrible losses. With the help of the Ultramarines, the Tyranid were pushed back. However, the formerly lush planet the Foxes called home was reduced to little more than wasteland of hot slag from constant orbital bombardment. They boarded their ships, horribly crippled from the campaign, and moved their base of opperations to a lush jungle death-world.

The chapter master was given a stern warning by the Ultramarines; next time there would be no help. Deviation from the Codex only resulted in weakness, he was told.

Whilst the chapter was recovering from losses, the master died in honorable combat against enemies of mankind. The best replacement at the time was the Chief Librarian. Things went smoothly until it was discovered that he was unearthing and keeping some artifacts of dubious and inhuman origin. No time was wasted and psykers were violently purged from the chapter and its servants, save for the astropaths and navigators. Since that time, the chapter has refused to work with all but the most rudimentary and nescisary psykers. This piece of information is a highly kept secret -- for if the Inquisition were to find out of the corruption that occured, the chapter would most certainly be cleansed.

The chapter currently sits slightly under full strength. Relations with the Ultramarines are still strained at best.

+++CHAPTER HERALDRY:

The Astral Foxes have changed heraldry three times since their founding. Originally the armor was blue with orange, then became orange and white when the chapter changed names. Currently, the standard armor is dark red with dark brown fore-arms and fore-legs and a white 'flair' around the rebreather and lower 'jaw' of the helmet. The eye lenses are of a yellowish-orange color. Older style 'beak' helmets are worn by the majority of the army as the style of helmet resembles their namesake.

Officers and first company are allowed to decorate their armor as they see fit and it has become tradition to further modify their armor to resemble the animal their name comes from.

The chapter badge is an orange stylized fox head.

There is more fluff. They were to be annhilated by the Inquisistion, so they sent an old timer inquisitor (named Vahlton). He found them slaughtering an Iron warrior batallion of over 1000 men and lost. There were no casualties on the Ghosts of Vhazghuel side. They were offered a second chance (which Saelonce excepted). They, however, have no new recruits and never will. The Ghosts of Vhazghuel (and more importantly Saelonce himself) forbids it, fearing that if more join, they will have to strengthen their defenses with people they don't know.

+++CHAPTER NAME: Apocalypse Lords

+++CHAPTER FOUNDING: Near Future (i.e. Post Eye of Terror)

+++CHAPTER MASTER: None, Governed by the Triarchs

To provide the additional spiritual strength required to battle the heretic,

the chapter is led by a command structure known as, "The Triarchs". This command

structure is composed of the first three surviving chaplain candidates who were

culled from the initial chapters founding.

The Triarchs, once returned from Terra, developed into warriors possessing

unprecedented levels of belief in the Emperor, their mission, and their capabilites.

Heresy would find no foothold in their hearts or souls. Nor would mercy.

The First Triarch:

I. Benkei, was the first from the initial culling to survive the Soul Cleansing

ritual and became the Head Chaplain of the Apocalypse Lords.

Benkei has very little in the way of memories prior to, or during the cleansing

ritual. Very little that is, except for a burning vision of sobbing uncontrollably at

the feet of the Emperor while being showered in his blood. When he regained

consciousness on a high mountain plateau, in his hand was a small vial of a dark

red fluid. This totem now adorns his neck and is a constant reminder of the

great sacrifice made for mankind. Benkei is adorned in armor colored a deep

blood red.

Benkei feels driven to redeem the Emperors loss through the blood of traitors in the hope that someday, the ultimate debt will be repaid.

II. Cephas, is an orator of extraordinary ability. He is known by the rest of

the chapter as the "Bringer of the Word". Clad in white armor, Cephas leads

the entire chapter in the daily prayers and is responsible for selecting from the

Deacons potential chaplain candidates. Cephas is as deadly with the sword as he

is inspiring with the word. Cephas was the second candidate to survive the Cleansing and return to the Chapter.

III. Justinian, also known as the Angel of Justice, is clad in armor of gold. Like an

avenging angel, Justinian sweeps through the unclean, the agent of swift redemption. Should any escape his wrath, he also sits in judgment of those heretics who somehow survived and administers the Emperors justice. Unfortunately for those who come before Justinian, it is a justice that is delivered in slow measured steps. In some instances, it is brought out one drip at a time. All too soon those judged wish for the instant release of their co-conspirators.

New chaplains that return from the Cleansing, adopt a role that is modeled after one of the three original Triarchs. When that decision is made, the new acolyte's armor is painted to match the color of the Triarch they are dedicating their service to. Their armor communicates not only their alignment, but also a personal style in the war against the heretic.

Benkei Acolyte: A chaplain that seeks to follow Benkei will continually struggle with the blood debt that he feels he must repay to the Emperor. Never satisfied, a Benkei acolyte will seek to push himself and those around him to impossible levels of heroism.

Cephas Acolyte: An acolyte who follows Cephas will be known as a fierce defender of the Truth. Should those around him struggle in the midst of a battle, he will renew their vigor with his uplifting exhortations and his sword.

Justinian Acolyte: Adorned in armor of gold, a chaplain who follows Justinian will become a proponent of swift justice. Favoring rapid deployments to

quickly bring an end to blasphemers, Justinian acolytes are known for their unconventional, yet linear thinking.

+++CHAPTER GENESEED: INFORMATION REQUEST DENIED

+++CHAPTER HISTORY:

In the days following the aftermath of Abaddon's 13th Crusade, a group of humbled

minds from the highest echelons of the Ecclesiarchy struggled to come to grips

with the blow that had been dealt. Abaddon had challenged their faith and

faith had lost.

They studied in detail the accounts where the loss of several planets

in the Cadian system were due to the direct result of small, but infammatory seeds

of heresy planted by contingents of the Alpha Legion as well as the extremely

dangerous Dark Apostles of the Word Bearers. These seeds separated untold

millions of souls from the Emperors' blessing and as a result, a new hatred

was born.

The leaders, now named the Apocalypse Council, acknowledged that it is a more

efficient use of resources to deal with heresy in its infancy, rather than

waiting for the festering cancer to engulf an entire planet or worse yet,

even a system. They also came to the conclusion that had the available

resources been adequate, and then the disastrous consequences of the Black

Crusade would not have occurred.

A decision was made.

Overtures to the High Lords by the Eccleisarchy began and a case was made

for the creation of a new chapter, based in the Cadian system, whose sole

purpose was to uncover and eliminate the multitudes of active agents and

dormant cells of future rebellions.

The Ecclesiarchy desperately wanted the new chapter to implement

its specific decisions and decrees, believing that only they, the keepers of

the faith were able to efficiently root out heretics. Recognizing that there

are two types of control, the Ecclesiarchy did not challenge the authority

of the High Lords nor the Adeptus Mechanicus. They realized that the founding

would never be allowed to be created, let alone exist outside those conditions.

However, the sponsors lobbied and were granted what was initially believed

to be an innocent concession.

The concession, simply enough, was to provide the chapter leadership through Chaplains

trained by the Ecclesiarchy on Terra. Without a prior connection to an existing chapter, there wouldn't be any battle brothers to be lent to the new founding. Able Commanders would not be available for several centuries, and there were concerns that a Chapter Master would soon want his chapter to pursue his priorities, which could not be assumed to be the same as the Ecclesiarchy. There couldn't be any Librarians in the command structure either. It was also felt that any potential psychic

ability inherent in Librarians could present a weakness that would be exploited

by their chosen enemy.

To alleviate any suspicions raised by the High Lords, the chapter suggested an

attachment of Inquisitorial overseers for a period of two centuries to ensure that

the new founding would not seek in some way, to circumvent the Decree Passive. Several centuries would pass before any whispers of the collusion between Puritan factions of the Inquisition, the Ecclesiarchy, and the Apocalypse Lords would surface.

With the agreement in hand, the Ecclesiarchy took steps to ensure that the

proper levels of leadership, piety, and most importantly, "allegiance" would be

enforced. As new leaders were developed from within the chapter, the candidates

for chaplaincy would make a pilgrimage to Terra to submit their souls to Ecclesiarchial rituals. Those that passed the Soul Cleansing, would return back to their chapter, spiritually renewed and prepared to lead their brethren in the unending search for the heretic. However, not all those who undergo the Soul Cleansing survive and of those that survive, not all return. Those that do not return have their names stricken from the Chapter records.

To support their operations, a spaced based fortress was constructed and

appropriately named, "Apocrypha". From this base, Strike Cruiser operations could

rapidly shift to newly identified hot spots, allowing the

Apocalypse Lords the freedom of movement to engage heresy where ever it raised its corrupt head. An extensive suite of electronics were integrated into not only the

fortress, but the Chapters Strike Cruisers as well. The chapter has developed an

extensive cadre of servitors whose sole purpose is to listen for heresy.

The Chapter is instilled with the following belief which echoes their method of

operations:

Heresy covets the cloak of night,

but Heresy speaks, and that which speaks can be heard,

that which can be heard, can be found,

and that which can be found, will be destroyed.

+++CHAPTER HERALDRY:

The chapter colors represent their Puritan outlook on the Imperium and their

operations. All questions and perspectives can be resolved down to the most

simple of components.

Their livery is white and black, vertically bisecting the trooper, with

white on the left side. The shoulder pad rims are bronze. The chapter symbol

is the greek letter Omega, which is displayed on the left shoulder. The motto,

"Let the End Begin" has been seen overlaying the omega on some troopers.

In the world view of the Apocalypse Lords, all things are black and White, Good or Evil, for the Emperor,

or against. There is no "in-between". Their charter is the elimination of

heresy within, no matter what form it may take.
