I seen twice now that one of the company members has entered a trance like rage. upon this rage the space marine becomes an insane murderer on the field of battle, killing all who do not belong to this chapter.

Shortly after the Codex Astartes was formed the Ultramarines...

Some rumors say the Geneseed originates from more than one 1st founding chapter though this cannot be certain. CHAPTER NAME: Legionnaires

 

CHAPTER FOUNDING:7th Founding

 

CHAPTER MASTER: Grand Marshal Victor Augustus has led the Legionnaires with distinction after the previous Grand Marshal, Marcus Aurelius Glenn, fell to the traitorous Hellspawn during their treason at the Battle of Thalgrex 7 in 447.M41. He lost his right eye to the Hellspawn Grand Master Ussamah Qassim, whom he killed in single combat. Victor Augustus wears a heavily modified suit of Terminator armor adorned with battle honors and purity seals with a Mark 3 power armor helmet in place of a standard Terminator helmet (this took considerable modification of the armor's chest and neck structure to achieve). He is armed with a combi-plasma gun and a beautiful, ancient black powerfist that dates back to the dawn of the Imperium and was said to be used by the captain of the Imperial Fists first company during the Horus Heresy.

 

CHAPTER GENESEED: The Legionnaires' geneseed derives directly from the Imperial Fists. The Legionnaires' Apothecaries take special care not to allow the geneseed to be altered or mutated in any way.

 

CHAPTER HISTORY: (not really developed yet, so not listed)

 

CHAPTER HOMEWORLD: Herculion is a forge world, peppered with huge factories and towering hive spires. This has given the Legionnaires access to a wide array of custom equipment, including drum magazines for bolters, several types of bolter ammo, and just about every artillery piece short of an Ordinatus in the Imperial arsenal.

 

CHAPTER RECRUITMENT: Since the people of Herculion grow more slowly than average humans, chapter recruitment has always been rather late, starting at age 15 or 16. An initiate must have been in Herculion's junior soldier training program for at least five years prior to recruitment and only the best candidates are selected. Each neophyte must swear four oaths: one to the people of Herculion, one to the Chapter, one in the name of Rogal Dorn, and one to the Emperor. Each recruit must face strong sinful temptations put into their heads by the Librarians during a crucial point in their training. If they do not resist such temptations completely, they are, as the Legionnaires euphemistically put it, "disposed of". Thus, Legionnaires are exceptionally strong of mind and virtually impossible to break.

 

CHAPTER FORMATION:The organization is similar to 20th century military forces, with various ranks of enlisted men and officers denoted by a skull embossed on the helmet with markings behind it. Skull is red unless otherwise specified. Chevrons are yellow.

The Legionnaires place no limit on the number of squads that can be put in a company, which means, like Black Templars and Space Wolves, they break the 1,000 Marines limit.

 

CHAPTER BATTLE DOCTRINE: The Legionnaires prefer ranged combat, using barrages from powerful artillery and merciless small arms fire to hammer the enemy, and they shun close combat. The Legionnaires are well-known for their tendency to loot enemy corpses and vehicles and use the enemy's weapons against them unless the weapons are corrupted by Chaos (Legionnaires will completely destroy any equipments or machines touched by daemons). The Legionnaires are extremely well disciplined and always fight in an orderly manner, and will refuse to fight alongside reckless Chapters such as the Space Wolves and Marines

 

CHAPTER BELIEFS: The Legionnaires worship the Emperor and revere Rogal Dorn. Their dogma and prayers stress the intrinsic value and sanctity of all loyal humans, and the evil and sin of those who have fallen to Chaos. This has given them a curious combination of humanitarianism towards loyal subjects of the Imperium and exceptionally bitter hatred towards the enemies of the Emperor. The Legionnaires believe that people must gird themselves in mind, body, and soul against the temptations of Chaos, so that one may withstand even the subtlest and most seductive corruption. Their Prayer of Guidance, thought to be derived from a prayer in an ancient Earth religion long forgotten is: "Though ever I walk in the shadow of evil, I fear no evil, for the Emperor is with me." The prayer is spoken in an extremely ancient form of Low Gothic thought to date back to the Age of Strife or even earlier. The Legionnaires will not fight alongside daemonhosts, flagellants, or other "tamed" daemons and heretics, and have a deep distrust of the Inquisition in general.

 

CHAPTER STANDARD: A black Roman helmet worn by a white skull

 

CHAPTER COLORS: The standard trooper wears silver armor with a dark grey helmet, bolter, and boots, with gold trim on the shoulder pads, eagle device wings, bolter, and backpack. The shoulder pads, knee pads, elbow pads, eagle device skull, and purity seal are red. Sergeants and veterans wear helmets with a red stripe. Officers wear silver helmets.

The Hellspawn were created in the 25th Founding to fortify a group of systems near the Eye of Terror. They had always had a bent towards strange deviations from Imperial dogma and had frequently attracted uninvited visits from the Inquisition. In 447.M41, the Night Lords assaulted the planet Thalgrex 7. Several Chapters, including the Hellspawn and the Legionnaires, were deployed to defend the planet. One day, the Hellspawn turned against the Imperium and viciously attacked the Legionnaires. The more powerful Legionnaires threw back the assault, but not before the Legionnaires' Grand Marshal was killed by the Hellspawn's Grand Master Ussamah Qassim. The Hellspawn were exommunicated and driven away into the Eye of Terror. Ever since, the Legionnaires have been on a crusade against them.

 

CHAPTER HOMEWORLD: Thier homeworld, Nova Medina, was destroyed by the Inquisition.

+++CHAPTER ORIGIN AND HISTORY:

 

The Night Stalkers Chapter was formed from Imperial Fist geen-seed stock during the 15th founding, and was assigned to the Arconos system, in the Eastern Fringe. The Night Stalkers only follow some of the Codex Astartes, which has caused some concern from other chapters as well as the Inquisition. However, their history in battle of stubborn death before the foes of the Emperor has allowed their unorthadox methods to survive, for now.

 

The Chapter is organized along the lines of 4 crusade fleets, called Cohorts. These, along with the 1st Cohort based at Arconos, form the brunt of the chapter, though smaller fleets and expeditions also exist. Each Cohort consists of at least one battle barge and three strike cruisers, and at full strength may house 600 warriors. However, the chapter is never at full strength, mainly because their pride in battle often causes excessive losses.

 

Instead of the usual honor of the 1st company, soldiers who have distinguished themselves in battle are promoted to the status of Praetorian. These veterans receive terminator training, and are most often seen as bodyguards for the commanders of the Cohort. They also will lead other squads, but rarely will fight as squads of their own.

 

Each Cohort is further broken down into three to five battle-companies, depending on the overall size of the Cohort. The Master of each Cohort, along with the captains of the battle companies, and any attached Librarians and Chaplains will lead the Cohort

CHAPTER HISTORY:

The Depth Hammers are a chapter specifically armed to fight underseas and in sea-to-land attacks. This is due to the fact that ocean worlds are invaluable to any race. Even the Necrons have use for them, if only to withhold it from thier foes. However, water planets are likely more valuable to the Tyranids than any other faction. The consumption of a water world rapidly accelerates the growth and movement of a splinter fleet. When a splinter fleet consumes such a world, it's threat level increases hugely. Because of this, the Depth Hammers are most often pitted against tyranids. The Depth Hammers homeworld, Posiedon, has a huge Adeptus Mechanicus presence. The tech-priests receive normal equipment and it is thier task to adapt it to undersea combat. Then it is distributed to the Depth Hammers and the local regiments. Posiedon also is home to massive training grounds where other Imperial forces can prepare themselves for underwater fighting. In exchange the forces swear oaths to assist the Chapter in times of need. Recently a massive Ork Waaagh passed through the area surrounding Posiedon, and during that conflict the chapter master, [Data Witheld], was slain. The other unfortunate consequence is that a Feral Ork Waaagh has emerged from the jungles of a nearby world, beaten elements of the previous waaagh into submission, and taken thier spaceships. To make matters worse, a tyranid hive fleet (albeit a small one), is aproaching, clearly intent on devouring Posiedon. The Depth Hammers and all Posiedonian regiments have been recalled to thier homeworld, and are preparing for the coming siege, and all forces bound by oath have been summoned. Inquisition ships have already taken positions in orbit, bringing with them a deathwatch kill team and a proclamation: if the defenders of posiedon fail, the planet will suffer exterminatus, with the defenders and the population still on the surface. Since this last news, the Posiedon system has been engulfed by the Shadow in the Warp and no further transmissions have been received. Due to the fact the Shadow has yet to move on, the defenders are clearly holding out adequately.

HERALDRY: Individual heraldry varies, and the only common element is blue armor.

History. M39 captain Lysander of the imperial fists was left for dead on a chaos dominated world by his chapter after they were forced to leave from heavy casualties. A week later a deamon hunter force found his body and brought them aboard there ship and took them back to a friendly planet. lysander took two months to recover from his grievous wounds. On his way back to terra to have council with the lords of terra he met a techpreist who forged him a new hammer and sheild after the imperial fists took back the others. The high lords of terra allowed the imperial fists to give some of their genesees to lysanders new chapter. now lysander has a chapter 600 strong building it up no matter what the cost. He and his chapter are very close to the ordo hereticus because lysander owes his life to the deamon hunters that found him.
