two mostly finished tests for my IA army. The marine just needs the base finished and other minor touchups, the scout is like 75% done. Also, these were taken with my cell phone camera till i get a big boy one, sorry bout that. http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a462/getterkaiserz/IMAG0026.jpg

Cool paint job, are you using the old ink for that shiny effect?

question concerning the carapace armor, why did you paint the front gap, between the chest plate and and the belt, armored and the back one clothed.

is not the spine more important to protect than abdominals?(ok both are important :HQ:)

critique on teh metal bits - they look quite rough - could do with a few thinned layers of metal rather than thick layers. Otherwise, it loos quite nice - though where is the reference with golden ram?

as far as the carapace is concerned, i wasn't sure if that was more armor or just tunic. Regarding the metal, that was like 3 layers of 1 to 1 mix of paint to water/flow extender. I will play around some more with it, you are right it does look chunky. The ink was a home brew wash made from the tutorial from awesome paint job. thinking about dull coating the model, but im not sure it would give a desirable effect to the gold and metal bits.

The golden ram is a reference to the myth from jason and the argonauts. The chapter symbol is a gold ram and should be on the shoulder pad. The gold portion is the hands, the trim, and sometimes the helmets depending on rank. Until i get a working printer to print up some decals, the shoulders will remain bare for now.

As far as the eyes, im not sure how to take what you're saying. Either you mean it in a way that you prefer them with no eyes and just some shading under the brow, or you're saying it in such a way as to mean i did a poor job and to not continue. Im going to assume its the former. What do you suggest then instead? It seems quite unfinished to my eye to not do...well the eyes.
