Fred Johnson the 3rd jr
Pretty much all my marines have helmets, but a few don't. What's a simple and non-cartoonish way to paint the faces? Growler67
The GW site has a bunch of pictured tutorials on painting different things. Have a gander. Marshal Wilhelm
I cannot find any for human faces, but hopefully this Monsters faces one will give you the technique, if not the colours. Ash Tekka
Easiest/quickest way I've done it is: base: tallarn flesh wash: ogryn flesh Highlight: tallarn flesh I use more colors and layers etc but for ones I want to crank out and and still look decent I'll do just those 3. Thunderhawk3015
I do the same as Ash for the basic troopers. Past that, Dwarf Flesh, then elf flesh, if you want warmer/cooler tones, add some blue or red to the flesh mix. Grizwald714
1) use dark flesh 2) 50/50 dark flesh and dwarf flesh 3) then wash with mud 4) repeat 2 5) Dwarf Flesh highlight 6) 50/50 Dwarf flesh, Elf Flesh highlight 7) Elf flesh final highlight I know it's a lot of steps I do spend a lot of time paining my models but I get a lot of complements especially on their faces if I had a diggy cam Id post some pics. But I figure u should spend more time on the head since it's the first thing people usually notice about your models. Bulweih
I do mine along the following lines: Chaos Black Primer Bronzed Flesh as base (here comes the base colour for the hair) Gryphonne Sepia wash (Same for brownish hair, other for other ;) ) Dwarf Flesh for the more prominent parts with the dark colours left in the recesses. (and here follows the highlight colour for the hair+ eyebrows etc.) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213705-how-do-i-paint-faces/#findComment-2543366 Share on other sites

Cool guys thanks, these both sound simple enough. I am assuming the washes are actually products and not just the paint you water down yourself? And where do you buy them from?
