matchbox
Just curious if any Flesh Tearers players have made a Chaplain Carnarvon, or know anything about his wargear etc. I'm planning on building him but have no idea where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
Brother Nathan
from their ia article it says nothin about his wargear etc but that he has held his positio for 250 years, and has a picture of himself, and boy is he ug ul ly! his left eye is bionic, lots of scars, seems to be mostly bone visable at the back of his head, cabels running from his forehead to back of his skull, metal plates etc... other than that he seems to have a high colar just visable with a form of cross(rosirus?)where youd normallyhave the skull on the tactical vet arge version. nd i can just see the first link of a chain too. As hes a chaplin id just guess he has the normal chaplin stuff, black armour and all. and prob as hes the hig chappy can take what ever extra wargear he needs from the armoury... matchbox
ok i never saw the picture. I was thinking that Astorath wouldn't work. He doesn't execute his fellows he just locks them away. I was thiking of converting the new Legion of the damned sergeant with a few bits to make him more Chaplainy. Not sure what to make his Crozius out of though. MRCHAOS
As there has never been any rules for him or mention of what wargear he has, you can use what ever you want. If I ever come to make him I will use Astorath's profile and swap the power axe for a large chain one, and heavily convert the model and get rid of all the scrolls and stuff plus a head swap! The fluff for Asorath is quite rubbish, if they had left it as he kills all the BA Death Coy guy's who have gone too far then that would have been fine. But to have him be the one who goes and deals with all the other chapters Death Coy aswell, I don't think so! (Off the top of my head) You could even use Tycho as Carnarvon just like the Ultra one in vanilla codex Cassius as his fist thing is sort of a power weapon (Crozius) Iron Halo gives him 4+ inv and his Rites of Battle could be his calming effect on other marines! The Crozius can be made easily with any power axe/maul weapon cut off at the top and a back banner top stuck in place.
matchbox
Thanks for the info. I've actually just found my old lemartes mini. Might use his crozius head and the icon hanging from his bolt pistol. Any ideas about a mini which would look good or shall I go ahead with the legion sergeant? Brother Nathan
you meanthis guy? http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s317/generalhazard_album/models/P4110540.jpg Makes a great chappy. I would suggest magnitising a backpack and jump pack, and maby using a combinatio of a crosirus and the thunderhammer off the dc kit so you can do a counts as reclusiarch or astrorath, and can have it jumpy with an assault squad or walky with anything including a death company... matchbox
Yeah that guy. I don't tend to run astorath or jump pack chappies. I tend to take an hq chappy with 5 dc with p weps in a storm raven. Works wonders. But I'll look into your magnet idea.

NExOBLIVISCARIS
Bad...ass . But the lemartes weapon (as it always has) looks to big and were did you get the banner?
Brother Nathan
the banner comes with the lotd models. loks good, but the weapon bugs me. Think its cause the blood drops on chains are hanging the wrong way...
matchbox
gonna change that but not sure how might try sawing the poles off and twisting them round
Midnightmare
^^thats what I did with my chappy's crozius, cut off the 'coathangers' and retained the BA icon atop the three skulls. Bare in mind if you keep them on though, the gems hanging from chains on it would need repositioning as they are pointing up at the moment <_<

Demoulius
this apparently is carnavron...http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s317/generalhazard_album/models/carnavon.png handsome fellow :) lovely model matchbox ^_^ question though, why is he white? i thhought only the DC and SG painted their armour in a different colour? :)
matchbox
I'm doing my dc White. And chaplains are technically the commanders of the dc. And fluff wise Carnarvon definitely is. Hence the White armour.
Demoulius
i understand your logic, but the colour black is as much a badge of office as the crozius is :( that said its your model! if you wanna paint it white then go ahead :tu:
Carnus Caedes
I noticed white DC etc in the rehashed whitedwarf article a few years back which concerned me to no end but on the wh40k 1.5th edition red book it show tycho in gold and right next ot him a chaplain in no less than silver!
