Brother Captain Posted October 24, 2010 Share Posted October 24, 2010 Yeah that's right, a Commissar and a good way to improve my skills when it comes to painting black, especially black cloth. Black is a tricky colour to get right as you have to start with a very dark version of another colour, shade it up to black and then highlight it up to the colour you chose. In this mini the coat is painted in a blue-greyish black while the trousers are painted in an earthy-greyish black. Since it's a fun project and I'm not trying to paint at the best of my ability some of the blends are not that great. Anyway I'm still quite happy with the results so far. The goal is to have a good looking mini with 4 - 5 afternoons' work. Brother Captain Posted October 24, 2010 Author Share Posted October 24, 2010 I could claim that he's probably going to end up in my Inquisitor's retinue (which is true BTW) but to be honest I was so excited I finaly started painting this mini that I completely forgot it wasn't PA related! :) So I apologise for the mistake. The Angelus Sanctus Posted October 25, 2010 Share Posted October 25, 2010 Although the mini in question is of non PA related content, if you do intend to have the model follow through and be set within an Inquisitor's Retinue, the thread can remain, however i would stronly recommend to have the remaining retinue follow, otherwise this thread will probably be purely viewed as a non-PA thread and will require closure.
