Olgerth Istaarn
Gents, Which putty is sandable? Is it Grey Stuff or Brown Stuff or something else completely? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213828-sandable-putty/ Share on other sites
Hemal
Brown stuff is, Milliput is, even greenstuff is to a point (more hardener required) - if you want a happy medium then use a mix of greenstuff and millput - consistency is like slightly set greenstuff initially but it is hard like milliput when set. madscuzzy
There are many different brands of 2 part putty. From softest to hardest. Green stuff, Tamiya Smooth Type, Procreate, Brown stuff, Tamiya brown type, Milliput The harder the putty, the more sandable, but also more brittle it is. The harder it is makes it easier to use for hard surfaces such as armour and metal. The softer it is, the better the effect for more organic materials such as cloth and flesh. In general, as most putties are 2 part (hardener and resin/base material) they can be mixed to form different consistencies, such as mentioned above. Ive not used Magic Sculpt before but I suspect that it is somewhere around Milliput. Olgerth Istaarn
So I went and bought some Milliput and also some green Squadron Putty, and I'm using the latter right now to stuff some unwanted chaos symbols and damage marks. Squadron Putty + emery boards results in pretty smooth finish, though the stuff is rather toxic... Lord_Azoth
I´d mix GS + milliput, or magic sculpt...both of them are good mixes to work with them and once dried both of them are sandable really well Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213828-sandable-putty/#findComment-2548399 Share on other sites
