Shadow Captain Corveus
This is the colour scheme for my Forest Brethren chapter, I need a chapter symbol to paint freehand onto the shoulder pads. The chapter is based on a Forest Planet and has a strong Tribal/Barbarian/Early Celtic imagery associated with it. I just thought I'd ask you guys for a hand on deciding the; 1) Colour and 2) Design of the symbol. (It needs to fit both the current colour scheme and the theme of my chapter and not be too hard to freehand!) Any ideas are welcome, I'll pick the best one and put it on my entire chapter  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213880-need-a-chapter-symbol/ Share on other sites
The Normish
As for color, I'd go with white, to contrast. As for design, just do an image search on your engine of choice and look for "Celtic symbols" or something, then pick your fancy! fivepointedstar
Just dont use any Axe symbols as thats opposite to the tree concept. If i were you, and im not sure how far your fine brushing is I would use the tree of life symbol * google it* its got lots of swirls, and interlocking knots. but it would look sweet. My other idea for the Forest Brethren is my be a Deer/ Elk antlers and a sword threw it. kinda like a twist on Kernunnos the celtic/ welsh god of forestry, war, death, and fertility. hope all my assistance helped. The Shadowlord
The Celtic Tree of Life immediately springs to mind, but that culd be devilishly hard to free hand if you can't get hold of decal paper. Slyen
I'd say a tree or a celtic cross. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213880-need-a-chapter-symbol/#findComment-2545414 Share on other sites
WingsOfTheFalcon
Did a bit of browsing and found this: http://b.imagehost.org/0188/tree1.jpg Which I think would look pretty neat on a shoulder pad and actually not be too hard to freehand, as well as matching your colour scheme. Sgt. Aardappel
http://manythingsdonotfly.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/celtic52_large.gif Isn't very hard to simplify and freehand. Get something like a toothpick to do the lines, et tada! (Don't take me responsible for the amount of time it'll take to freehand 'em all though!) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213880-need-a-chapter-symbol/#findComment-2545503 Share on other sites
Shadow Captain Corveus
http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs31/f/2008/213/f/c/Celtic_Tree_Of_Life_Tattoo_by_Sinnersandsaints08.jpg Looking at this one, the branches aren't actually that inter twined, there are some in the foreground and background that are merely looped a short distance Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213880-need-a-chapter-symbol/#findComment-2545549 Share on other sites
GooseDaMoose
I definitely agree with the Normish about the contrasting white. I dunno why but it seems very celtic-y to me. And the tree of life thing is very dopage, I would do something like that... If I could be bothered :P but it's definitely the best one Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213880-need-a-chapter-symbol/#findComment-2545619 Share on other sites
Kurgan the Lurker
If they do decals for the LOTR line then the white tree of Gondor would work great against that green armor.
