Grey Mage
Chop the end off a meltagun, cut one barrel off a stormbolter and replace with meltabarrel. Or use the one in the SM Commander box. Wolf Lord Arrnulf
I am currently working on my sw army and i had to make combi meltas for my GH and WGTA.. here what they look like. For the WGTA. I chopped a melta gun and put that ontop of a bolter and added a melta bomb half from the dev squad sprue. hope this helps http://i1217.photobucket.com/albums/dd391/Maverick533/Picture1.jpg For the GH I had a plastic devastator squad. don't think i needed the multimelta so sawed that in half and underslung that to a bolter and cut a belta bomb in half and stuck that on. http://i1217.photobucket.com/albums/dd391/Maverick533/Picture2-1.jpg Hope this helps Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213900-combi-melters/#findComment-2545469 Share on other sites
Tsavong Lah
I don't know why more people don't buy BA Infernus pistols and model them onto the bottoms of normal Boltguns, but that's what I'm planning on doing once my BA friend finishes assembling his Sanguinary Guard and Death Company squads. krewl
I buy the 5 metal ones in the GW bits pack, and chop the barrel off and replace one stormboler barrel with them. (like Grey Mage) And good luck waiting for BA bits, as BA seem to want MG's as much as wolfs do. Simo429
I prefer to see bolter bits added to a melta gun than the other way round personally. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213900-combi-melters/#findComment-2545908 Share on other sites
Valerian
I used several of the actual plastic Combi-Meltas from the Space Marine Commander's boxed set. When I ran out of those and needed another, I did the mod where you use plastic cement to attach the Melta Gun's barrel and the fuel canister (at least that is what I think that part is) to a plastic Storm Bolter. I really like how that simple conversion looks, and Storm Bolters are pretty easy to find. The Melta Gun itself is a little harder to come by, especially if you've got Melta Guns already spread throughout your force in Grey Hunter and Wolf Scout packs. skawolf
Alright I have a few ways I have done combi-meltas. A ) Chop up a haevy stubber from the I-guard tank sprues untill you just have the body of the gun, chop the barrel down to the fatter vented area (dont know the technical term here, it looks like a melta tip). I shave the top of a bolter down and shave the bottom of the heavy stubber down untill the two components fit snug together, add the melta bomb cut in half to the side of the heavy stubber where the rounds would be expelled from the gun, this solves two problems at once in that it covers the solid round aspect of the stubber up and adds the promethiumn tank. B ) use the combi-melta from the daemon prince box in a similliar fashion to the heavy stubber bits described above. This bit is really easy to find on Ebay and for cheap, I got 5 of them for $6 and that was including shipping. C ) Raid all of your friends bit boxes, beg and plead. (I actually found two in my friends bit box that he didn't know he had, and one in mine that I was unaware of) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213900-combi-melters/#findComment-2546032 Share on other sites
Marshal Wilhelm
there seem to be alot of conbi-melters used in everyones list, i was just wondering where u can get them or how to convert them i live is melbourn australia so if there is a place near by or a good websit i would like to know As mean as this may sound, I do not by much stuff from our GW stores. Now our dollar is on par with the US one, we get value for money from the States and the UK. Even buying at their retail prices is discounted compared to what they sting us. ^_^ Go fishing on eBay and you'll be happy with your effort. You need a credit card though.... Hoard O Bits, Oasis Games and Red Dragon Games are my faves. Just don't bid on what I want! :P eBay, Wayland games and some others from the UK are great. Where abouts in Melbourne do you play? I don't know why more people don't buy BA Infernus pistols and model them onto the bottoms of normal Boltguns, but that's what I'm planning on doing once my BA friend finishes assembling his Sanguinary Guard and Death Company squads. This is what I do. Get Bolter. Trim side of Melta pistol, Plasma pistol, Flamer pistol [basically all BA guns] and side of Bolter. Glue together. It is only one-shot and so I feel having it as a small gun is very fitting. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213900-combi-melters/#findComment-2546263 Share on other sites
